A young gay couple living in Georgia were viciously attacked while sleeping in their College Park apartment. The attacker, 48-year-old Martin Luther Blackwell, entered Marquez Tolbert and Anthony Goodenβs and dumped blistering water all over their bodies, which caused third-degree burns.

In an interview with WSBTV, Tolbert said βMartin pulled me up and said, βGet out of my house with all that gay β¦ I couldnβt stop screaming.β Ironically, Blackwell doesnβt live in the apartment; heβs dating Goodenβs mother and stayed the night.
According to the report, Blackwell was disgusted by their relationship. He told police, βTheyβll be all right. It was just a little hot water on them.β Blackwell remains in custody at Fulton County Jail and was charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
Tolbert and Goodenβs wounds are severe. βThe pain doesnβt let you sleep. Itβs just, like, itβs excruciating, 24 hours a day, and it doesnβt go anywhere β¦ It doesnβt dial down, anything. Itβs just there. can barely think straight because the burning, the stinging is everywhere.β Tolbert said.
While we hope Blackwell has a less than pleasant experience behind bars, we hope youβll check out their GoFundMe page and, if you can, donate to help them cover their medical bills.
