Sorry, the eggplant and peach emojis are off limits!
Censorship is as real on the internet as it is pervasive. And now, Facebook and Instagram have added to their already extensive guidelines cracking down on sexual expression.
Online censorship is a growing threat to Internet users. Although Facebook and Instagram already maintain strict community guidelines, they’re taking it a step further.
According to the adult industry news outlet XBIZ, the social media networks updated their Community Standards over the last few months to include emojis. According to these regulations, the eggplant and peach emojis cannot be incorporated into suggestive statements about being aroused.

Also, creators cannot share photos that use emojis to censor nudity or refer followers to pages where adult content is viewable. Therefore, linking to OnlyFans or JustForFans pages in the link in bio is prohibited.
When asked about this emoji update, a Facebook spokesperson told XBIZ “nothing [has] changed in terms of the policy itself or how we enforce it, we simply updated the language to make it clearer for our community.”
“We often make updates to our Community Standards,” the company said. “We publish these changes on our Community Standards site, so our community is aware.”
