Fans are getting their first look at The Umbrella Academy‘s third season.
In the upcoming season of The Umbrella Academy, Netflix says the Hargreeves family will no longer be in the 1960s but instead return to the modern-day to see how their actions in the past impact the world today. The adoptive family of superheroes is set to team up with Sparrow Academy, a superhero group that exists in the alternative timeline.

“Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives?” the official logline questions. “Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?”
The photos released this week, not only show the Hargreeves but members of the Sparrow Academy.
Here’s what we know about the show’s future
Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman sat down with IGN to talk about the new characters. [The Sparrow Academy] was something that Gerard [Way] and I had a similar idea on, and he wanted to incorporate it into the comics,” he said.
“I had a similar sense, there are 43 kids in this universe, special kids like our Umbrella Academy. Eventually, I wanted to meet more of them, and he also was planning to do something in the comic book. Our sort of minds melded and hence the Sparrow Academy. They’re an exciting group of seven other very special siblings that are very different from their own. I think the audience will get a real kick at seeing how they all interact with each other.”
Blackman also admitted he wants one more season before wrapping up The Umbrella Academy for good. But, he says Gerard Way, My Chemical Romance frontman and creator of The Umbrella Academy comic books, has “10 volumes in his head.”
