  • Zac and Dylan Efron’s Shirtless Lake Day Is the Summer Vacation the Internet Needed

Zac and Dylan Efron’s Shirtless Lake Day Is the Summer Vacation the Internet Needed

While most of us are battling sand in unfortunate places or melting in city heat, Zac and Dylan Efron are living their best lives on a lakeside getaway that’s basically a Pinterest board of “Summer Goals.” And yes, the shirts were left at home.

On July 1, Zac Efron, 37, made waves (literally) on Instagram by dropping a carousel of lakeside pics that instantly reminded the world why he’s still a gay heartthrob. No caption, no explanation, just vibes. The post opened with the “High School Musical” alum shirtless behind the wheel of a boat like some kind of nautical dream, followed by a shot of him wakesurfing like a pro.

Another snap showed Zac strolling solo with only a towel wrapped around his waist, casually looking like an Abercrombie ad. The post ended with an adorable sunset video of him and his younger brother, Dylan, trading cowboy hats while floating on the boat.

Dylan Efron’s POV: Shirtless, Sunny, and Sponsored?

Dylan, 33, gave his followers a sneak peek at the fun a day earlier, posting a video montage of the lakeside hangout. His Instagram video opened with the text “Describe summer in one word,” set to the breezy Briscoe track “Easy Does It.” His answer? “This.”

The video shows the brothers taking turns launching themselves off a dock into the water, wearing only swim trunks, and presumably a brand deal, as Dylan tagged Vuori in both the caption and the clip.

Also making an appearance: Dylan’s longtime girlfriend Courtney King, who got tossed into the water by her man like a true lakeside rite of passage. (Cute aggression is real.)

    Cowboy Hats and Hero Moments

While the brotherly bonding and ab-filled photos stole the spotlight this week, Dylan recently reminded fans he’s more than just pretty abs and a middle-part haircut. During an April episode of Brooke & Connor Make a Podcast, the “Traitors” star recounted a surprisingly dramatic story from his first visit to Miami’s South Beach.

“I walk up to the shore for the first time ever, and I’m looking out and it was just people screaming in the water,” Dylan recalled. He, actor Sam Asghari, and their friend Brandon ended up rescuing several girls who were caught in a rip current. Dylan brushed it off with a shrug, calling it “random,” but honestly? He’s a certified lifeguard in our hearts.

After the group was safe, Dylan simply hugged one of the girls, said “you’re safe,” and walked off like a shirtless superhero with no need for applause. Iconic.

A Little Brotherly Thirst This Holiday Weekend

Whether they’re goofing off in cowboy hats, saving lives on the beach, or just giving the gays everything they want via Instagram, the Efron brothers continue to deliver. Their Fourth of July-week energy is peak summer fun, wholesome, hot, and hilariously low-effort.

‘The Traitors’ Winner Dylan Efron Teams Up With Sephora—and a Towel—for a Steamy Skincare Debut

Fresh off his win on Peacock’s hit competition series The Traitors, Dylan Efron, 33, is turning his breakout moment into a stylish splash, starring in a new skincare collaboration with Sephora. The campaign, which launched this week, features the first-time reality star clad in nothing but a white towel as he introduces his newfound commitment to taking better care of his skin.

“I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been into skincare,” Efron admits in the promotional video. “I’ve actually been pretty rough on my face over the years. But recently, I’ve decided to change that.”

While the confession feels relatable, it’s the visuals that have truly captivated audiences. With sculpted abs, an effortlessly tousled look, and an easygoing charm, Efron’s entrance into the beauty world has been anything but quiet.

Still, the athlete and producer insists this is more than just a thirst trap. He’s genuinely leaning into self-care—and encouraging others to do the same. Even if he’s not quite a morning person.

Dylan Efron, who also happens to be the younger brother of High School Musical star Zac Efron, has been building his own name in recent years through travel vlogs, adventure sports content, and now, reality TV fame.

His appearance on The Traitors not only earned him a legion of fans but also helped him connect with broader audiences—including the LGBTQ+ community, who quickly embraced him after a certain now-iconic Instagram photo resurfaced.

“I hid [the arch pic] in the back of a carousel, and that thing resurfaced with a storm!” he said with a laugh at the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, speaking to PRIDE magazine. “That’s why I’m here! I love how inclusive this community is. That’s the best feeling in the world—to be accepted like that.”

Efron hasn’t announced his next TV or media project just yet, but between brand campaigns, awards show appearances, and his growing online presence, he’s clearly keeping busy.

One thing’s for sure: Whether he’s in the Scottish Highlands or just wrapped in a towel, Dylan Efron is ready for his close-up—and people are watching.

  • The Cast of the ‘High School Musical’ Talk Their Last Year at East High

The Cast of the ‘High School Musical’ Talk Their Last Year at East High

The High School Musical season four cast opens up about LGBTQ+ representation and the end of an era!

In a recent interview with Gayety, editor Caitlynn McDaniel caught up with the incredible cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, including Joshua Bassett, Sofia Wylie, Frankie Rodriguez, Julia Lester, and Dara Renée. The excitement was palpable as they discussed the new season and the importance of LGBTQ+ representation in the beloved franchise.

What is the Last Season of HSMTMTS All About?

As Season 4 unfolds, a new year dawns upon the Wildcats, casting them in the wake of the docuseries aftermath. Gina (Sofia Wylie) and Ricky (Joshua Bassett) may be the new “it” couple, yet their budding romance remains shrouded in secrecy. Ashlyn (Julia Lester) embarks on a journey of self-discovery after her awakening at Camp Shallow Lake, questioning her identity and desires.

Kourtney (Dara Reneé) revels in her fleeting fame post-documentary while simultaneously embarking on an accelerated path toward college applications. Carlos (Frankie A. Rodriguez) and Seb (Joe Serafini) grapple with the reverberations of a deceptive docuseries trailer, which falsely paints Carlos as a summer-break cheater.

Best of all! The new season will show the return of Lucas Grabeel (and his new partner), Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu, Bart Johnson, Kaycee Stroh and Alyson Reed. Liamani Segura, Saylor Bell Curda, and Adrian Lyles from season three will also return.

    What Team? WILDCATS

Frankie Rodriguez, portraying Carlos, couldn’t contain his joy about the inclusivity of the show, saying, “It means so much to be a part of the franchise in my own personal way and to share that story with the fans.”

Sofia Wylie, who plays Gina, spoke passionately about her character’s growth and development throughout the seasons, especially in season four. “She’s able to fully thrive within this newer version of herself and settle into her place within East High.”

Julia Lester, portraying Ashlyn, emphasized the rapid character growth and self-discoveries in previous seasons and hinted at even more exploration in the upcoming episodes. “She gets to take all of these self-discoveries and bring them into a full new semester of school and back to East High,” she shared.

We noticed in the trailer for the series, Reneé’s Kourtney can’t help but wear an entire ensemble of pink, similar to the OG Sharpay Evans. Is this on purpose?

“It’s our senior year, so we had to bring it,” she teased, keeping her lips sealed on the real secrets of the season.

    The Impact of HSM

This heartwarming interview showcases not only the camaraderie among the cast but also the profound impact of High School Musical on their lives. Sofia shared her journey of finding acceptance and support among her co-stars, emphasizing the importance of finding one’s family.

With season four poised to deliver more heartwarming moments, self-discoveries, and LGBTQ+ representation, fans are on the edge of their seats.

This is the last season of HSMTMTS, AND it is also many of the Wildcats final year at East High. So, of course, we had to ask the cast for their senior quotes. Watch the full interview here to find out.

And tune in to the series finale of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series now on Disney+.

Ryan Evans is Officially Gay – Watch the Clip of Him Kissing His Partner Here

In a new clip from season four of Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Ryan East High is revisited by Ryan Evans, and his new partner (hi Scott Hoying!) is accompanying him.

The Wildcats are back in the halls of East High in the new season of the Disney+ original series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. This includes Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman), Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu), Martha Cox (Kaycee Stroh) and the now out and proud Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel). That’s right, Ryan is queer (not that this is a surprise to anyone).

    Credit: Disney Plus

Audiences first encountered Ryan in 2006 when Disney Channel aired Kenny Ortega’s musical drama High School Musical. Ryan Evans, formerly recognized as the hat-wearing, theater-loving twin brother of Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), has an alluded romance with composer Kelsi Nielsen, but the series never directly addresses his sexuality. But that did not stop fans from speculating!

In an interview with Variety, Ortega said he did not feel like Disney was ready for a queer storyline.

“I was concerned because it was family and kids, that Disney might not be ready to cross that line and move into that territory yet,” Ortega said. “So, I just took it upon myself to make choices that I felt that those who were watching would grab. They would see it, they would feel it, they would know it and they would identify with it. And that is what happened.”

Luckily, Disney is getting queer Ryan now, ready or not!

Ryan Kisses Partner in New Disney Clip

In a clip shared by Disney on Tuesday, the OG cast of HSM appears on stage and kicks off the fourth and final season of the spin-off series with a much-needed reunion.

As the four are performing on stage, Ryan runs off to give his partner, played by Hoying, a quick smooch.

After Hoying’s character gushes about how cool it is to be there, Ryan tells him, “it means so much to me that you are here,” before going back to join his friends. Don’t mind us, we are just squealing into our pillows.

    HSMTMTS Tackles Queer Stories

This is not the first queer storyline to come from the new series, but it is one many fans have been waiting for. In a previous interview with Gayety, openly gay showrunner Tim Federle said it was very important to him to bring representation into the show.

“I think one of the fundamental experiences, especially of Gen Z and the modern experience growing up, is that identity is broadening, and that’s a beautiful thing. And I think our show really tries to tell that story proudly.”

HSMTMTS is a mockumentary drama. It sees a new set of Wildcats who actually go to East High perform High School Musical for their spring musical. The show will wrap after the fourth season premieres on Disney+ on August 9. Read the official synopsis below.

“After an epic summer at Camp Shallow Lake, the Wildcats return to East High where they prepare a stage production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.  But plans are disrupted when Principal Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited High School Musical 4: The Reunion movie on location at their beloved high school.”
