  • Lorde’s Sister Indy Yelich Unveils Fame Is a Bedroom, an Intimate EP on Love and Queer Identity (Exclusive)

Lorde’s Sister Indy Yelich Unveils Fame Is a Bedroom, an Intimate EP on Love and Queer Identity (Exclusive)

Indie-pop singer and songwriter Indy Yelich is preparing to share a side of herself few have heard before. Her forthcoming EP, Fame Is a Bedroom, set for release on August 1, captures deeply personal stories of identity, relationships and growing up in the long shadow of fame.

Yelich, known as Lorde’s younger sister, took Gayety by the hand this week to reflect on what inspired this candid collection of songs. In an exclusive interview, she revealed that she composed much of the EP in real time, documenting experiences as they were unfolding.

“This is my most personal record yet,” Yelich said. “I wrote these tracks while living them. It feels like a sonic goodbye to big relationships and past parts of myself. Releasing it now just feels right.”

Sail Away: A Song of Queer Friendship and Lost Love

One of the most compelling tracks, “Sail Away,” delves into the complexity of a queer relationship that blurred the line between friendship and romance. Yelich says she drew on her own experiences—sharing beds, heartfelt conversations and an unspoken longing.

“It’s about someone I was very close to, maybe even in love with, and those feelings were never mutual,” she explained. “Queer friendships like that can be haunting. You lose a friend, a lover and a confidante all at once.”

Inspired partly by Chappell Roan’s Good Luck Babe, “Sail Away” explores the uncharted emotional terrain of female intimacy and same-sex longing. Through its haunting melody and reflective lyrics, the song captures the push and pull of bonds that are difficult to define.

    A Bedroom Full of Memories

The EP’s title, Fame Is a Bedroom, echoes its intimate tone. Yelich describes the bedroom as her creative cocoon – a space for writing, crying, healing and self-reflection.

“My bedroom is where I do everything—rest, dream, talk on the phone. It’s private, messy and sacred all at once,” she said. “These songs are conversations I’ve had behind closed doors.”

Each song unpacks a piece of her story, from her first move to New York at 18 to coming to terms with her queer identity and navigating emotional entanglements.

    Influences That Shaped the Sound

Musically, Fame Is a Bedroom features lush, atmospheric production guided by influences like Mk.gee, Holly Humberstone, Ethel Cain, Bon Iver, Billie Marten, Gigi Perez and Chappell Roan. Yelich aimed for songs that breathed – where lyrics and arrangement had room to evoke mood and memory.

“These artists inspired me to make space in my music for vulnerability,” she said. “I wanted the EP to feel moody, emotional and human.”

    Queer Voice Center Stage

Fame Is a Bedroom speaks to queer audiences through its exploration of female friendship, longing and the evolving understanding of sexuality. Yelich, who came out at age 19, says her identity is inseparable from her creative expression.

“These songs are rooted in women’s lives—my own, my sisters’ and friends’. I often write to figure things out,” she said.

She hopes listeners will find resonance in the silences, the questions and the spaces between words—moments where identity forms and fractures.

    Lessons Learned Through Heartbreak

Yelich says emotional honesty and self-awareness were essential to writing this EP. She credits painful breakups and friendships for prompting personal growth.

“Loss demands introspection. I had to own my part in letting go. Working on attachment and setting boundaries has helped me develop stronger relationships.”

On emotional boundaries, she admits it’s a work in progress. Communication and self-care, she says, are ongoing practices.

    Growing Up as Lorde’s Sister

The shadow of fame has shaped Yelich’s life from a young age. As Lorde’s sister, she faced inevitable public scrutiny—search engines knew her address and her family biography.

“It’s weird to be a teenager with your life already cataloged online,” she recalled. “You learn to develop thick skin early. Fame opened doors for my music, and I’m grateful. Still, this EP was about being heard for myself.”

She acknowledges the challenge of carving a creative identity that stands apart from her famous sibling.

“I come from a family of writers. Music was always in me. Trusting my own voice—without comparison—became my North Star.”

    A Farewell and a Beginning

Fame Is a Bedroom wraps up a chapter in Yelich’s life, offering a space to process and let go. At the same time, it serves as a bold announcement of her artistic independence and personal evolution.

With songs about codependency, heartbreak and sisterhood, Yelich has created a collection that is vulnerable, relatable and emotionally rich. Her voice, both lyrical and literal, asserts itself with quiet power.

The EP will be available August 1 across all streaming platforms. For queer pop and intimate storytelling that resonates with real lived experience, Fame Is a Bedroom is poised to be a landmark moment.

Spanish Goalkeeper Marries His Husband in a Joyful First for Men’s Soccer

Alberto Lejarraga is scoring wins both on and off the pitch. The Spanish goalkeeper, who plays in the country’s semi-professional men’s soccer league, recently tied the knot with his longtime partner, actor and musician Rubén Fernández, in a heartwarming wedding ceremony on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

The wedding was more than just a romantic milestone, it was a bold moment of LGBTQ visibility in a sport still grappling with inclusion.

    Love in the Spotlight

Lejarraga, 30, made headlines in April 2023 when he casually came out on Instagram by posting a kiss with Fernández and thanking him for his support during a promotion campaign with Marbella FC. The moment marked the team’s rise to Spain’s Segunda B division and unexpectedly made Lejarraga a media figure in and beyond the soccer world.

While former U.S. pro Robbie Rogers came out and later married producer Greg Berlanti, Lejarraga is widely believed to be the first active male professional or semi-pro soccer player to marry a same-sex partner while still playing.

What started as a joyful social media post quickly evolved into international recognition, and, eventually, a shared wedding album celebrated around the world.

    “A Great, Great Day”

The newlyweds recently jetted off to Japan for their honeymoon, but the buzz around their big day hasn’t quieted.

“It was a great, great day,” Lejarraga told Outsports, reflecting on the outpouring of love from family, friends, and fans.

Lejarraga emphasized that his coming out was never part of a formal plan, but that hiding no longer felt right. “It wouldn’t be fair to myself, and especially to my partner,” he told TVE. “I wanted to take the step.”

Career Milestones and a New Chapter

Lejarraga’s soccer journey hasn’t slowed either. At the end of the 2023–24 season, he celebrated another promotion with Marbella FC, this time to the third-tier Primera Federación. After signing a one-year contract extension and hitting his 100th appearance (with over 50 clean sheets to his name), Lejarraga transferred back to his hometown club, UD San Sebastián de los Reyes.

Though now playing again in Spain’s fourth tier, his impact continues to rise. In June, he appeared in The Courage to Be Visible, a Pride Month documentary spotlighting LGBTQ athletes in Spain. He joined fellow sports figures including Olympic figure skater Javier Raya, water polo player Víctor Gutiérrez, and race walking champion María Pérez to share candid stories of courage and representation.

    Making Space for the Future

With a wedding album full of joy and a career rooted in both athleticism and advocacy, Lejarraga hopes his visibility inspires others in the soccer world.

“There has still never been an out gay or bisexual male player in Spain’s top divisions,” he said, acknowledging the long road ahead.

“But hopefully, one day, this won’t even be news anymore.”

Until then, Lejarraga’s love story stands as a powerful reminder: being out and proud can be just as game-changing as any goal.

  • Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, and Conan Gray Dance the Night Away at Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball

Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, and Conan Gray Dance the Night Away at Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball

Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball lived up to its name Sunday night, and the energy wasn’t just coming from the stage. A viral clip from her Los Angeles stop at the Kia Forum on July 28 shows pop besties Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, and Conan Gray living their absolute best lives during a performance of “Born This Way”—dancing, shouting lyrics, and clearly having, well, a ball.

The trio, all queer icons in their own right, were spotted in the crowd vibing out with euphoric abandon as Gaga belted her LGBTQ+ anthem. Fans online couldn’t get enough, with many commenting that this crossover of alt-pop royalty felt like witnessing the future of music partying with the queen of the movement.

    Gaga’s Trans-Inclusive Statement

While the crowd served up major energy, Gaga gave it right back with a high-camp, high-fashion spectacle only she could deliver. One of her standout looks during “Abracadabra” and “Judas” included a ruby-red ruffled gown, classic Gaga. But it was the added pink, white, and blue sash that caught attention, a sparkling nod to the trans pride flag and Gaga’s enduring support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Though fans speculated about a giant trans pride cape making an appearance, some of the photos floating online appear to be fan edits rather than the actual tour look. Still, the intention and visual symbolism were clear, and very Gaga.

    Even Nancy Pelosi Couldn’t Resist

Turns out Gaga’s Mayhem Ball has bi-partisan appeal. Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was in the audience at the tour’s San Francisco stop the night before, calling the concert “the most fun I’ve had in a long time.” Pelosi, attending with her husband Paul, reportedly danced the entire night and delighted fans with her unexpected appearance.

This wasn’t Pelosi’s first Gaga encounter either, she previously attended Gaga’s 2021 performance with Tony Bennett at Radio City Music Hall, proving once again that Gaga’s reach spans generations, party lines, and pop eras.

A Night for the Queer Pop History Books

With theatrical visuals, explosive choreography, and a setlist that spans from new tracks off Mayhem to eternal bangers like “Poker Face,” “Shallow,” and of course, “Born This Way,” Gaga’s tour is not just a concert, it’s a celebration. And with Olivia, Chappell, and Conan adding Gen Z glitter to the moment, it’s clear that Gaga’s influence continues to ripple through pop’s brightest stars.

If the viral footage from the L.A. show is any indication, The Mayhem Ball isn’t just a concert series, it’s a safe space, a runway, and a dance floor for queer joy in all its forms.

  • ‘King of Drag’ Crowns King Molasses as First-Ever Champion in Historic Drag King Series

‘King of Drag’ Crowns King Molasses as First-Ever Champion in Historic Drag King Series

Drag royalty has a new face, and this time, it’s bearded, bold, and breaking boundaries.

Revry, the world’s first LGBTQ+ streaming platform, has officially crowned King Molasses as the inaugural winner of King of Drag, the first-ever drag king competition series. After six weeks of fierce battles and boundary-pushing performances, King Molasses emerged victorious from a diverse lineup of ten competitors, making herstory as the series’ first reigning monarch.

    A Royal Roster

The show’s eclectic cast featured standout kings including Alexander the Great, Buck Wylde, Dick Von Dyke, and Tuna Melt, but it was King Molasses who ultimately snatched the crown. The final decision followed weeks of challenges that blended comedy, charisma, and commentary, especially on masculinity in modern drag culture.

“I want my reign to establish our credibility as artists,” King Molasses told Entertainment Weekly in a post-win interview. “We’re always going to be compared to drag queens, but I want my reign to put to bed the ambiguity about what a drag king is.”

Hosted by a Legend, Celebrated Around the World

King of Drag debuted on June 22 exclusively on Revry, with comedian and LGBTQ+ trailblazer Murray Hill serving as the series’ host. Hill, beloved for their roles in Somebody Somewhere and Drag Me to Dinner, guided the competition with wit, wisdom, and a whole lot of attitude.

The premiere sparked over 200 global watch parties, including enthusiastic turnouts in Brazil, South Africa, and Taiwan. It’s clear the hunger for drag king visibility spans far beyond U.S. borders.

The Judges’ Court and Star-Studded Guests

Each episode saw King Molasses perform for a panel known as The Kings Court, made up of drag luminaries including Tenderoni, Gottmik, Sasha Velour, Wang Newton, and Revry CEO Damian Pelliccione.

Celebrity guest judges added some serious sparkle to the runway, from Bridesmaids director Paul Feig to Drag Latina star Carmen Carrera, Somebody Somewhere stars Bridget Everett and Jeff Hiller, and actress Lisa Rinna.

A Cultural Reset for Drag Kings

Co-created by Revry co-founders Damian Pelliccione and Christopher J. Rodriguez, and co-produced by The Silo (the team behind The International Vogue League), King of Drag is being hailed as one of Revry’s most ambitious original series to date.

“King Molasses exemplifies everything we hoped to showcase,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “Their authenticity and artistry were undeniable.”

Pelliccione echoed the sentiment, adding: “We’re thrilled to crown them as our first-ever King of Drag.”

Unlike drag queen-centered shows, King of Drag spotlighted the unique art of drag kings, performers who exaggerate masculinity through satire, swagger, and subversion. The cast represented trans masc individuals, nonbinary artists, and cis women, showing the wide spectrum of gender performance within drag.

Now Streaming: The Revolution Will Be Bearded

Whether you’re a longtime fan of drag kings or just discovering this electrifying corner of queer culture, now’s your chance to catch every lip sync, laugh, and look. The full first season of King of Drag is available to stream exclusively at Revry.com.

The series is proudly sponsored by e.l.f. Cosmetics, a brand that champions bold self-expression for every eye, lip, and face.

In the words of King Molasses: the reign has just begun.

Kit Connor and Joe Locke Bid Emotional Farewell as ‘Heartstopper Forever’ Wraps Filming

After three heartfelt seasons and a global wave of queer joy, Heartstopper is coming to a close – not with a final season, but a feature-length film. Netflix has confirmed that Heartstopper Forever will conclude the story of Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring, bringing Alice Oseman’s beloved LGBTQ+ teen romance to a poignant cinematic end in 2026.

The film, which officially wrapped production on July 27 after a 35-day shoot, will serve as the final chapter in the Heartstopper universe. Rather than continuing with a fourth series as originally planned, Oseman and Netflix made the decision to finish the story with a movie that gives the beloved couple the send-off they deserve.

“It’s been met with so much care and passion and dedication and love,” Oseman wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of a tree carved with “N + C” – a nod to Nick and Charlie’s enduring love. “Heartstopper means the world to me, and it’s always been a little scary to put it into other people’s hands… I’m so thankful to everyone who has been a part of it… so far! Now we begin the edit!!!”

Joe Locke and Kit Connor, who have portrayed Charlie and Nick since Heartstopper debuted in 2022, also shared heartfelt goodbyes to the characters that helped launch their careers and connect with millions of fans around the world.

Locke, who recently appeared in Agatha All Along and will soon take the stage in Clarkston in London’s West End, posted a short but emotional farewell on Instagram: “Bye Charlie x thank you <3.”

Connor, who came out as bisexual in 2022 and has since starred in the action drama Warfare, shared a behind-the-scenes image with Locke, overlayed with the words “Wrapped” and “Thank you for everything.”

The official Heartstopper Instagram also marked the wrap with a joyful cast video shouting “Heartstopper forever!” The post quickly attracted thousands of reactions, including messages from LGBTQ+ organizations, celebrities, and fans who have been moved by the series’ affirming portrayal of queer youth and chosen family.

Charity Just Like Us, which supports LGBTQ+ students, commented: “HEARTSTOPPER FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER,” reflecting the deep emotional resonance the show has carried within the queer community.

While plot details for Heartstopper Forever remain under wraps, fans have speculated about what’s next for Nick and Charlie. Cast members were spotted filming in Leeds earlier this month, prompting theories that Nick might head off to university there — hinting at a potential long-distance arc that explores new layers of their relationship.

From its start, Heartstopper was a rare gem – a queer story that centered softness, growth, and joy. Adapted from Oseman’s bestselling graphic novels, the series quickly became a cultural touchstone for Gen Z and LGBTQ+ viewers, praised for its tender tone, emotional honesty, and diverse representation.

As fans prepare to say goodbye, the cast continues to rise. Bradley Riches, who appeared in season two, commented under Locke’s post, “Crying xx so proud of you.” Meanwhile, supporting stars like Yasmin Finney, Will Gao, and Kizzy Edgell have all found new roles on stage and screen, cementing Heartstopper as both a cultural phenomenon and a launchpad for emerging queer talent.

Though the end is near, Heartstopper Forever promises to leave fans with one final dose of warmth, representation, and romance – a reminder that queer stories matter, and happy endings are possible.

Heartstopper Forever is set to premiere on Netflix in 2026.

NightGowns was created by Velour to uplift queer artistry with no compromise, fierce, theatrical, and radically inclusive from the jump.

“I am deeply honored to celebrate the audiences and artists who have made NightGowns into the platform and space that it’s become over the last decade,” Velour said in a statement. “When our art form and our people are being criminalized, erased, displaced… just knowing it’s possible to survive is a source of POWER.”

  • George Santos Is Crashing Out Before Heading To Prison: ‘They’re Shutting Me Up’

George Santos Is Crashing Out Before Heading To Prison: ‘They’re Shutting Me Up’

George Santos, the disgraced former Congressman known as much for his lies as for his flamboyant persona, begins serving his 87-month federal prison sentence Friday. Once a rising star and the first openly gay Republican elected to Congress, Santos now faces the consequences of a stunning political and personal downfall.

From Historic Win to Public Humiliation

Santos won election in 2022 to represent parts of Queens and Long Island. His campaign painted him as a self-made Wall Street financier, a Jewish immigrant descendant, and a cultural chameleon who promised to bring fresh energy to the Republican Party. In truth, most of his biography was fabricated.

Over the following year, revelations of fraud, identity theft, and embezzlement emerged, culminating in his expulsion from the House in December 2023. Prosecutors later charged him with multiple federal crimes, including wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, to which he pleaded guilty in August 2024.

He admitted to using fake campaign loans, stealing the identities of family members to solicit funds, and collecting COVID-19 unemployment benefits while employed.

    No Clemency, No Illusions

Despite ongoing public support for Donald Trump, Santos said he doesn’t expect a pardon. In recent interviews, he noted that granting clemency would damage Trump politically with Republican members of Congress already trying to distance themselves from the scandal.

“I will not waver in my support for him,” Santos said of the former president to Politico. “But I don’t think he can help me now – he has to think about the country and the party.”

A White House spokesperson declined to comment on whether any clemency request had been submitted.

    A Final Curtain Call

Santos’s prison sentence marks the closing act of one of the most bizarre political performances in recent memory. His entrance into national politics was as chaotic as his exit. With designer clothing, smug press appearances, and online monologues, Santos cultivated a persona that blurred the lines between public servant and reality star.

As he prepared to surrender to federal custody, Santos leaned heavily into this theatrical legacy. He posted a clip of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” on social media, highlighting the lyric: “And now, the end is near. And so I face the final curtain.”

Santos has said he will not be allowed access to technology while incarcerated and won’t be permitted to conduct interviews. “They’re shutting me up essentially,” he said.

George Santos to Serve over 7 Years
George Santos to Serve over 7 Years

    Targeting Critics, Embracing the Spotlight

Even as his prison term loomed, Santos remained combative. On social media, he targeted fellow members of Congress he viewed as hypocritical, calling out Democrats and Republicans alike for alleged ethical violations. His message was clear: If I’m going down, why aren’t they?

He criticized several New York Republicans who distanced themselves from him once his scandals unfolded, branding them traitors. He also accused the Department of Justice of being “weaponized” but remained loyal to Trump, declining to speak critically of him.

Santos has also taken credit for nicknames he’s given to political rivals, including “Senile Joe Biden” and “Temu Obama,” a dig aimed at House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

    A Complicated Identity

Beyond the fraud and bluster, Santos’s story is also a deeply personal one – especially for the LGBTQ+ community. As a gay man and former member of Congress, Santos occupied a unique and often contentious space in American politics.

Now, facing years behind bars, he says he fears for his safety. He has requested protective custody due to concerns about violence toward him as both a gay man and a former politician.

In the months leading up to his sentencing, Santos turned to monetizing his notoriety. He launched a podcast, “Pants on Fire,” sold personal videos on Cameo, and even teased a potential OnlyFans account. While he claimed these helped cover legal fees, prosecutors viewed them as evidence of continued exploitation of his public profile.

He also opened up about cosmetic enhancements, including facial fillers, expressing concerns about how prison will affect his appearance. “It’s about 30 percent not me,” he joked on a podcast earlier this year.

    Regrets and Reflections

Despite his public persona, Santos did express remorse – at least partially. At his sentencing, he wept and apologized to his constituents, saying, “I should have done better, not for me, but for everyone else as well.”

Now, with prison time looming, he says he sees no clear future beyond his sentence. “I guess I put it all out there,” he said. “Sorry. That’s all I can say.”

The prison marks a stark new reality for someone who once walked the halls of Congress in designer shoes. His flamboyant, fabulist style made him a media sensation, but ultimately, it wasn’t enough to shield him from the consequences of deception and criminal behavior.

    What Happens Next

Santos is expected to serve his sentence at a low-security federal facility. He will also face two years of supervised release upon completion of his prison term. He was ordered to pay restitution of $373,000 and to forfeit an additional $205,000.

He will be required to participate in financial disclosures as part of the ongoing legal process. The court ordered that both parties submit full income and asset documentation within 60 days.

    A Legacy of Scandal

George Santos’s story may be remembered as a cautionary tale – about ambition without integrity, identity exploited for power, and the media environment that allowed him to rise.

His conviction and incarceration mark the end of a saga that captivated the country with its bizarre twists and tragicomic tone. For many LGBTQ+ Americans, the downfall is a reminder of the importance of authenticity, transparency, and representation that empowers rather than deceives.

For Santos, it’s the final curtain – at least for now.

  • Scheana Shay Reflects on Missed Same-Sex Romance Before Settling Down with Husband Brock Davies

Scheana Shay Reflects on Missed Same-Sex Romance Before Settling Down with Husband Brock Davies

Former Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay is opening up about a lesser-known chapter in her romantic journey – one that prompted deep questions about her sexuality before she met her now-husband, Brock Davies. In her candid new memoir, My Good Side, Shay, 40, recounts a brief yet eye-opening fling with a female friend she refers to only as “DD.” The relationship, she explains, stirred thoughts of bisexuality, but ultimately faded as her connection with Davies solidified.

    An Unexpected Romance

In the book, Shay reveals she met “DD” in April 2019 at Stagecoach, the popular country music festival. Their bond was instant: dinner in West Hollywood, holding hands in public, and passionate kisses at a LGBTQ-friendly hotspot. Shay recalls, “It felt like more than friendship but not enough to admit or commit to a relationship.” This whirlwind of emotions led her to question longstanding assumptions about her own sexuality.

Shay told People that though both were close friends, their feelings deepened – horsing around, drinking, and contemplating a shift into something more serious. But timing played a key role. She says, “I don’t think we were necessarily ready to have the talk” about evolving their relationship. Meeting Brock Davies a few months later changed everything – and she suggests that without that spark, her love story with DD might have continued.

    A Coming-Out… To Herself

Reflecting on the experience, Shay admits she never spoke out loud about her attraction to DD until working on her memoir. “The whole thing was very confusing,” she writes. “Was I bisexual? Was I just attracted to her?” Dating Davies sharpened her awareness, but she acknowledges that this flirtation could have changed her path.

Shay emphasizes she doesn’t regret how it all unfolded. Now happily married and mother to their daughter Summer Moon (born April 2021), she tells People, “Brock is my person.” Despite casting aside the possibility of a queer partnership, Shay says her experience with DD remains a meaningful part of her personal growth.

The Memoir: Growth and Raw Honesty

My Good Side is being released in the wake of Shay’s decade-long journey on Vanderpump Rules. It explores her battles with OCD, grief, and relationship betrayals. Among the revelations: Shay’s affair with Eddie Cibrian, miscarriages, and her husband Brock’s confessed infidelity during her pregnancy. The book presents a theme of resilience and reinvention.

Shay told The Independent after the book’s release, “This is me at my most authentic… every skeleton in my closet is now just fully out in the living room.” This deeply personal work marks a departure from television portrayals and tabloid stories, opting instead for emotional transparency.

Romance, Betrayal and a Queer Turn

Shay’s biography is rich with love, lust, and pain. Among its pages are accounts of high-profile flings – John Mayer, Jesse Metcalfe, Adrian Grenier, and more – as well as the emotional wreckage of her husband’s affair. But the brief romance with DD is its own quiet heartbeat: an intimate encounter that forced Shay to ask, “Who could I have been… if I allowed myself to be?”

That shard of truth resonates powerfully with LGBTQ+ readers. For many queer women, fleeting yet erotic friendships can be pivotal. Shay’s stories affirm that sexuality isn’t always black-and-white – sometimes it’s a mystery we only learn by living it.

    Settling Into Motherhood, Marriage, Identity

Two years into her marriage to Davies, Shay says she’s in a different place. “Our relationship isn’t perfect – I don’t think any marriage is, but I think he’s perfect for me,” she told People. Parenthood has brought clarity, she says, and a renewed commitment: “Your past doesn’t define your future. We’re growing and learning and being a better version of ourselves.”

Her daughter Summer Moon, now four, is at the center of this new chapter. Shay shared publicly that Brock’s affair occurred during her pregnancy – a disclosure she held back from Vanderpump Rules to protect her family and their story.

Yet writing the memoir felt essential. Shay hopes to cast off the label of “reality star,” transforming it into “author, advocate, mother, authentic woman.”

Why This Matters for Gay Readers

Scheana Shay’s story isn’t just tabloid fodder. It speaks to the journeys of many queer women who question their sexuality during moments of intimacy. Her tale highlights emotional truth amid social expectations. By sharing a past she nearly kept hidden, Shay offers validation and a reminder that identity can be fluid – and complex.

For gay and bisexual women, especially those raised with rigid expectations around heterosexual monogamy, Shay’s experience echoes familiar internal conflict. She never “came out,” but she did wrestle with her feelings in private and now has placed them in the public record. That matters.

    A Path Forward

Shay emphasizes that while her chapter with DD closed, its impact remains. The friendship faded as she and Davies grew closer, but the memory lingers – an anchor to a road not taken.

Today, Shay is forging ahead: married, a mother, an advocate for mental health, and a budding author. She’s exploring career opportunities beyond reality TV and maintains that her innermost self is now fully shared with the world.

“I’m not the girl who’s going to be walked all over anymore,” she said in The Independent. And with My Good Side behind her, she means it- on her own terms, with or without a label.

Chappell Roan Teases ‘The Subway’ with Breakup Bangs, Beards and NYC Posters

Chappell Roan may not be a subway regular, but she’s certainly taking over New York’s streets in the lead-up to what looks like the long-awaited release of her next single, “The Subway.” After months of fan buzz and live performances of the song, Roan has launched a teaser campaign across Manhattan that’s as theatrical and offbeat as she is.

“The Subway” Is (Finally) Leaving the Station

First debuted during her Statue of Liberty-clad performance at last year’s Governors Ball, “The Subway” has become a staple in Roan’s live shows. It’s raw, catchy, and soaked in that signature heartbreak-meets-camp vibe Roan fans love. But while the artist has kept the studio version under wraps, until now, recent signs suggest we won’t be waiting much longer.

Across New York City, posters have begun popping up featuring Roan in two eccentric looks: one with lopsided, self-inflicted bangs and another where she sports a long wig and beard. The tagline? “Going through a breakup? Get Bangs!” A closer look reveals a clue tucked in her hair, a bread tag reading “Best before August 1st.” Fans are taking that as a not-so-subtle hint that “The Subway” drops on that date.

    From Street Art to Saskatchewan?

Roan isn’t stopping at cryptic posters. A sneak peek of the track has landed on her official YouTube channel, complete with what looks like cover art and the same rough-edged glamor that’s become her calling card. To top it all off, she’s also been spotted filming in New York this month, prompting speculation that a full music video is incoming.

One of the most eyebrow-raising teasers? A video clip of Roan driving away in a truck with a Saskatchewan license plate. While the Canadian reference remains delightfully unexplained, it’s only added fuel to the fan frenzy, and memes, online.

All Aboard the “Subway” Hype Train

As the presumed August 1 release date approaches, all signs suggest that “The Subway” will be Roan’s next big pop moment. Her last release, “The Giver,” followed a similarly artsy breadcrumb trail that culminated in a triumphant drop. If history repeats, fans are in for something bold, theatrical, and a little unhinged, just how Roan likes it.

Until then, fans are on high alert for more clues, content, or possibly even Chappell Roan herself prowling NYC in another wig. Whether you’re in the depths of heartbreak or just along for the ride, “The Subway” promises a trip worth taking.

Queer Cyclists, Designer Jerseys, and a 275-Mile Ride to Save Lives

Team ANIMAL partners with Willie Norris to support HIV care through Cycle for the Cause

As LGBTQ+ rights face renewed challenges across the U.S., one team of queer cyclists is turning resistance into movement, literally. Team ANIMAL Cycling, a bold collective of riders rooted in queer joy, visibility, and purpose, is gearing up for Cycle for the Cause 2025, a 275-mile ride from Boston to New York that funds lifesaving HIV services at the NYC LGBT Center.

And this year, they’re doing it in style, with exclusive gear designed by none other than fashion’s favorite queer disruptor, Willie Norris.

From Brooklyn to Boston: Why This Ride Matters More Than Ever

With the beloved AIDS/LifeCycle sunsetted, Cycle for the Cause is poised to become the largest AIDS ride in the country. That puts even more weight, and momentum, behind Team ANIMAL’s efforts.

Riders are pushing themselves across three states, not for sport, but for survival. In 2024, the ride raised over $2 million to support testing, prevention, and care for people living with HIV/AIDS. In 2025, Team ANIMAL hopes to pedal that number even higher.

“It’s a really scary, precarious time for queer people,” says Team Captain Forrest Wu. “This ride is about visibility and connection. You can’t miss a swarm of visibly queer cyclists, some in drag, racing through the countryside. It’s part protest, part pride, all heart.”

Fashion Meets Function: The Willie Norris x VERGE Sport Collab

If you spot a pack of cyclists looking like they just stepped off a runway, well, they kind of did. Team ANIMAL’s jerseys and caps were designed by acclaimed queer fashion artist Willie Norris. Known for fusing activism with avant-garde aesthetics, Norris has worked with brands like Helmut Lang, Away, and G.L.I.T.S., with her designs appearing in Vogue multiple times.

Now, she’s bringing her boundary-pushing vision to the cycling world. Produced in partnership with VERGE Sport, the gear isn’t just a look, it’s a fundraising tool. Fans and allies can purchase the kits, with proceeds going to the cause.

Pedaling With Purpose: The People Behind the Ride

Beneath the fashion and fanfare are deeply personal stories. One standout rider is Chris Brand, who’s taking on the grueling 275 miles alongside his father, a Mormon minister. Their journey is one of healing, love, and proving that allyship can come from unexpected places.

Then there’s the team itself, proudly backed by Brooklyn’s queer nightlife darling, ANIMAL. Since opening in April 2024, the bar has become a vital space for community, creativity, and now, charity. The venue’s name lives on in the cycling team it champions, turning Saturday night dance floor energy into Sunday morning purpose.

More Than a Ride: A Queer Tradition in the Making

Cycle for the Cause isn’t a race, it’s a ride. But for Team ANIMAL, it’s also a rolling celebration of resilience. Expect themed rest stops staffed by glittering volunteers, cheers from the Sirens (a legendary lesbian motorcycle club), and maybe even a cyclist lip-syncing in full glam under a bike helmet.

    It’s camp. It’s cardio. It’s community.

    And it’s working.
