Laverne Cox Makes History with First All-Trans Team on ‘Celebrity Family Feud’

Laverne Cox is once again making television history—this time, on the game show stage. The Emmy-nominated actress, producer, and LGBTQ+ advocate will appear on ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud on Thursday, July 31, 2025, leading the first all-transgender team to ever compete on the show.

Cox’s team, known as “Team Laverne,” features a dynamic group of trans entertainers and activists, including media mogul TS Madison, pop artist Mila Jam, and several other prominent figures from the LGBTQ+ community. The team will face off against Grammy-winning DJ Diplo and the casts of the long-running soap operas General Hospital and The Young and the Restless in the episode, which is part of Celebrity Family Feud‘s 11th season.

“Team @lavernecox is here to have fun and look good doing it!” the official Family Feud Instagram account posted on Wednesday. “✨ Watch them on #CelebrityFamilyFeud as they play for @tsmadisonstarterhouse tomorrow at 8/7c on ABC! Stream on Hulu.”

Cox’s episode marks a major moment for representation on prime-time television, showcasing a joyful celebration of transgender talent and solidarity. Airing at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC, the episode will also be available to stream on Hulu.

“This was a beautiful moment of chosen family and sisterhood,” Cox wrote on Instagram. “We need each other now more than ever. We are all we have.”

The energy online has been celebratory. TS Madison shared her excitement with fans via Instagram, writing: “Anywayzzzzzzzzzzzz. Catch us on CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD this week @abc @hulu @familyfeudabc.”

She added, with her signature humor and charm, “I kno some of y’all ain’t got much to do. Let us kno in the comments the answers we missed ON TV 📺 see you Thurs—ohhhh I mean see US Thurs 🩷”

The team is playing for a cause close to their hearts: TS Madison’s nonprofit, the TS Madison Starter House Foundation, which supports LGBTQ+ individuals in need of housing and essential resources. The nonprofit works to help trans people, especially Black trans women, gain stability and safety in a world that too often leaves them behind.

Celebrity Family Feud, hosted by Steve Harvey, has featured a wide variety of celebrity contestants since it premiered in 2008. While the show has had LGBTQ+ celebrities in the past, this is the first time an all-trans team has taken the buzzer. The milestone arrives during a time when transgender representation in media continues to face political backlash—but also when the call for visibility, joy, and support has never been louder.

The format of the episode will feature multiple rounds. Team Laverne will go head-to-head with Team Diplo in the first segment, while the casts of General Hospital and The Young and the Restless battle it out in the second. The winners of each round typically proceed to the Fast Money round, where they compete for a cash prize to donate to their chosen charity.

While the competition is a fun-filled display of quick-thinking and comedic answers, the cultural impact of this particular episode runs much deeper. Cox and her teammates are not only representing themselves—they’re shining a light on a community that continues to fight for equity and inclusion in all spaces, including entertainment.

Whether they walk away with the top prize or not, Team Laverne is already victorious in many ways: They’ve made history, had fun doing it, and brought a necessary spotlight to trans joy, love, and unity.

Don’t miss the historic episode of Celebrity Family Feud on Thursday, July 31 at 8/7c on ABC, and streaming next day on Hulu.

  • Doja Cat Roasts Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle Ad in Viral TikTok

Doja Cat Roasts Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle Ad in Viral TikTok

Doja Cat is back in her trolling era, and this time her target is Sydney Sweeney’s much-discussed American Eagle campaign. The rapper and pop provocateur recently posted a TikTok video poking fun at Sweeney’s commercial, which has come under fire for what some are calling subtle nods to eugenics.

In the now-viral clip, Doja Cat mimics the ad’s script nearly word-for-word, but with a twist. Using a dramatic Southern accent, she recites:
“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color… my jeans are blue.”

That final word, “blue,” is drawled as “blee,” driving the parody home and prompting viewers to both laugh and cringe in equal measure. Doja even confirmed in the video description that her pronunciation was fully intentional.

The Ad That Sparked It All

In the original American Eagle ad, Sweeney, known for her role on Euphoria, is shown lounging on a couch, buttoning up her jeans while softly delivering the same line. The ad ends with a narrator declaring, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”

Another ad in the campaign takes things a step further. Sweeney is seen walking past a billboard that reads “Sydney Sweeney has great genes,” which is then altered to say “jeans.” Critics were quick to point out the not-so-subtle pun and its potentially unsettling implications.

The campaign quickly caught flak online for playing into language associated with eugenics, the outdated and dangerous pseudoscience that falsely claims some people are genetically superior to others. The blowback prompted American Eagle to quietly remove some of the campaign content from its platforms.

    Doja’s TikTok: Satire or Shade?

Doja Cat’s parody, which has racked up over 22 million views and counting, adds fuel to the ongoing backlash. Many fans praised her for lampooning the tone-deaf campaign, while others questioned whether she was the right person to throw stones, given her own history of internet controversies.

Still, the moment reminded fans of the artist’s razor-sharp wit and unpredictable humor. Whether the video is a pure joke, a critique, or a mix of both, it’s clearly resonating.

Neither Sweeney nor American Eagle has publicly responded to Doja Cat’s take.

    The Internet Reacts

Across TikTok, X, and Instagram, fans and critics alike are sounding off. Some are calling Doja’s video the “perfect response” to a misstep in marketing. Others are more skeptical, suggesting her motivations might be less about social commentary and more about stirring the pot.

Regardless of intent, Doja Cat’s parody has become the internet’s latest obsession, and yet another example of how quickly a few words (or blee) can snowball into cultural critique.

  • ‘Overcompensating’ Season 2? Prime Video Teases What’s Next for This Comedy Hit

‘Overcompensating’ Season 2? Prime Video Teases What’s Next for This Comedy Hit

Fans of Overcompensating, the offbeat queer YA comedy created by Benito Skinner, may have reason to hold onto hope: a second season could be on the horizon.

In a recent interview with Variety, Amazon MGM Studios head Vernon Sanders opened up about the future of the platform’s young adult content — and Overcompensating is right in the mix. The show, which debuted earlier this year on Prime Video, has quickly built a passionate fanbase thanks to its unapologetically queer humor, heartfelt characters, and Skinner’s distinct voice.

Internet sensation Benito Skinner, also known as Benny Drama, is stepping into the spotlight with his highly anticipated TV debut in the semi-autobiographical comedy series Overcompensating on Prime Video.
Benito Skinner and Wally Baram’s TV debut in the semi-autobiographical comedy series Overcompensating on Prime Video.

“We’ve been really pleased by the completion rates of Motorheads and Overcompensating,” Sanders said. “So we’re going to be in conversations with all three [YA series]… Each show is working on Season 2 writers rooms, and we’ll hope to have renewal announcements soon on some, if not all, of those shows.”

While nothing has been officially renewed just yet, the news that the creative team behind Overcompensating is actively working in a writers’ room is a promising sign for fans eager to see what happens next.

The series is part of Prime Video’s broader effort to expand its YA programming slate, which has already seen hits like The Summer I Turned Pretty, We Were Liars, and the upcoming Off Campus and Sterling Point. According to Sanders, the strategy isn’t just about appealing to teens — it’s about telling coming-of-age stories that resonate across generations.

“With The Summer I Turned Pretty, we saw a whole storyline with the parents. It’s an intergenerational story,” Sanders said. “And we’re seeing audiences grow with the properties.”

That cross-generational appeal seems to be driving the momentum behind Overcompensating, which balances satirical takes on influencer culture and gender roles with genuine emotional arcs — all with a queer lens. Skinner, known for his viral social media presence, has found a new platform in long-form storytelling, and fans are eager to see how the show’s quirky ensemble continues to evolve.

For now, no official release date for Season 2 has been confirmed. But with the show’s strong engagement and Prime Video’s commitment to diverse YA content, it looks like Overcompensating isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

  • Chad Michael Murray Shares The Role Fans Still To This Day Ask Him About

Chad Michael Murray Shares The Role Fans Still To This Day Ask Him About

Over two decades have passed since One Tree Hill first debuted, yet for Chad Michael Murray, the role of Lucas Scott remains his most defining — and, for fans, his most cherished. While the actor has since built a diverse career across film and television, it’s clear that the emotional drama set in the small town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, continues to strike a lasting chord.

Speaking with PEOPLE at a recent screening of his new film Freakier Friday, Murray, now 43, reflected on the staying power of the show that catapulted him to teen heartthrob status in the early 2000s.

“I would say probably One Tree Hill — yeah, that’s probably the one thing that most people come up to me about,” Murray said. “But I mean, I was there for six years, so that’s a large body of work. That’s a large chunk of time.”

The CW series, which ran from 2003 to 2012, followed a group of friends and rivals navigating love, family, basketball, and the complications of growing up. Murray’s role as the brooding writer and athlete Lucas Scott quickly earned him legions of fans. The series helped define a generation of teen drama alongside shows like The O.C. and Gossip Girl, but One Tree Hill carved out a uniquely emotional niche that still resonates with viewers.

“When you do a movie, it’s a moment,” Murray continued. “You’re there for three, four months. That movie’s an hour and a half long versus someone sculpting 136 hours of good-quality television. I think that impact might be a little bit vaster, you know what I mean?”

    A Nostalgic Wave of Recognition

Though One Tree Hill remains the most common reference point, Murray says fans often recognize him for other standout roles from his early 2000s heyday — particularly his charming turn in A Cinderella Story opposite Hilary Duff and his comedic performance in Freaky Friday alongside Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.

“The quotes are usually from A Cinderella Story,” Murray said with a laugh. “Or like the guy down there, he just sung ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ and I said he crushed it. He crushed it.”

In Freaky Friday (2003), Murray’s character famously performs a rendition of the Britney Spears classic, a scene that has since become a viral throwback clip, continuing to live on in GIFs, TikToks, and nostalgic Twitter threads.

    “It Was Terrifying”

Despite his confident on-screen presence, Murray admitted that stepping into the spotlight at such a young age wasn’t always glamorous behind the scenes.

“It was terrifying,” he said of his early career. “I was like, ‘Welcome to Hollywood, kid. Go do this.’ Literally.”

Murray landed his first major acting roles in the early 2000s after growing up in Buffalo, New York. From guest spots on Gilmore Girls and Dawson’s Creek to leading man status by 21, his rise was fast — and, at times, overwhelming.

That sense of vulnerability and authenticity may be part of what made Lucas Scott feel so real to fans who were going through similar growing pains. Over the years, Murray has grown more comfortable revisiting that part of his life, recognizing the significant bond fans still share with the series.

    The Legacy of Lucas Scott

One Tree Hill wrapped its nine-season run in 2012, but the fandom has never faded. On social media, streaming platforms, and convention circuits, fans continue to celebrate the series, rewatching episodes and engaging in online discussions about the show’s impact and deeper messages.

In a 2024 interview, Murray expressed his gratitude for the fans who’ve kept the One Tree Hill legacy alive.

“This OTH family has grown with us and we’ve grown with them,” he said. “It’s always been their show, it always was, and we’ve all done it together.”

“Without the fans, there is no One Tree Hill,” Murray added. “No matter whether we’re there making it or not. The show would’ve gone away a long time ago, but they’ve kept it alive, and it struck a chord with so many people, still today.”

That “chord” was often rooted in emotional vulnerability, the complexities of family and friendship, and the power of finding your voice — themes that resonated deeply with LGBTQ+ viewers, many of whom connected with characters who struggled to fit in or be understood.

    The Possibility of a Reboot?

Though rumors have swirled for years about a potential One Tree Hill reboot, Murray has remained cautious but open-minded. In past interviews, he’s said he “can’t see a world” without the show making a return in some form — though whether that’s a sequel, spin-off, or reboot remains unclear.

What is clear, however, is that the show’s emotional storytelling and its iconic cast left a mark that time hasn’t erased. As Murray ventures into new roles — including his latest in Freakier Friday — fans remain eager to follow wherever his journey leads, while holding on tightly to the memories of Lucas Scott, the River Court, and the magic of Tree Hill.

  • ‘King of Drag’ Crowns King Molasses as First-Ever Champion in Historic Drag King Series

‘King of Drag’ Crowns King Molasses as First-Ever Champion in Historic Drag King Series

Drag royalty has a new face, and this time, it’s bearded, bold, and breaking boundaries.

Revry, the world’s first LGBTQ+ streaming platform, has officially crowned King Molasses as the inaugural winner of King of Drag, the first-ever drag king competition series. After six weeks of fierce battles and boundary-pushing performances, King Molasses emerged victorious from a diverse lineup of ten competitors, making herstory as the series’ first reigning monarch.

    A Royal Roster

The show’s eclectic cast featured standout kings including Alexander the Great, Buck Wylde, Dick Von Dyke, and Tuna Melt, but it was King Molasses who ultimately snatched the crown. The final decision followed weeks of challenges that blended comedy, charisma, and commentary, especially on masculinity in modern drag culture.

“I want my reign to establish our credibility as artists,” King Molasses told Entertainment Weekly in a post-win interview. “We’re always going to be compared to drag queens, but I want my reign to put to bed the ambiguity about what a drag king is.”

Hosted by a Legend, Celebrated Around the World

King of Drag debuted on June 22 exclusively on Revry, with comedian and LGBTQ+ trailblazer Murray Hill serving as the series’ host. Hill, beloved for their roles in Somebody Somewhere and Drag Me to Dinner, guided the competition with wit, wisdom, and a whole lot of attitude.

The premiere sparked over 200 global watch parties, including enthusiastic turnouts in Brazil, South Africa, and Taiwan. It’s clear the hunger for drag king visibility spans far beyond U.S. borders.

The Judges’ Court and Star-Studded Guests

Each episode saw King Molasses perform for a panel known as The Kings Court, made up of drag luminaries including Tenderoni, Gottmik, Sasha Velour, Wang Newton, and Revry CEO Damian Pelliccione.

Celebrity guest judges added some serious sparkle to the runway, from Bridesmaids director Paul Feig to Drag Latina star Carmen Carrera, Somebody Somewhere stars Bridget Everett and Jeff Hiller, and actress Lisa Rinna.

A Cultural Reset for Drag Kings

Co-created by Revry co-founders Damian Pelliccione and Christopher J. Rodriguez, and co-produced by The Silo (the team behind The International Vogue League), King of Drag is being hailed as one of Revry’s most ambitious original series to date.

“King Molasses exemplifies everything we hoped to showcase,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “Their authenticity and artistry were undeniable.”

Pelliccione echoed the sentiment, adding: “We’re thrilled to crown them as our first-ever King of Drag.”

Unlike drag queen-centered shows, King of Drag spotlighted the unique art of drag kings, performers who exaggerate masculinity through satire, swagger, and subversion. The cast represented trans masc individuals, nonbinary artists, and cis women, showing the wide spectrum of gender performance within drag.

Now Streaming: The Revolution Will Be Bearded

Whether you’re a longtime fan of drag kings or just discovering this electrifying corner of queer culture, now’s your chance to catch every lip sync, laugh, and look. The full first season of King of Drag is available to stream exclusively at Revry.com.

The series is proudly sponsored by e.l.f. Cosmetics, a brand that champions bold self-expression for every eye, lip, and face.

In the words of King Molasses: the reign has just begun.

  • ‘Building the Band’ Champions Individuality — and Pays Tribute to Liam Payne

‘Building the Band’ Champions Individuality — and Pays Tribute to Liam Payne

On Netflix’s Building the Band, singing isn’t just for the stage—it spills into the hallways, the dorms, and even the snack breaks. The new singing competition brings together emerging artists to form bands sight unseen, and what follows is a musical experiment full of talent, heart, and harmony.

In a recent interview with Gayety, members from the show’s standout bands—3Quency, SZN4, and Soulidified—shared what really happened behind the scenes, how music brought them together, and what the experience meant to them.

    Meet the Bands

3Quency—the powerhouse girl group that ultimately won the competition—is made up of Nori Royale, Brianna Mazzola, and Wennely Quezada. The chemistry was instant. “We fell in love with each other as soon as we saw each other,” Wennely said. “Just being able to rehearse with them, laugh, bake cookies—it was all a highlight.”

Yes, cookies. “One thing I love is a cookie,” Brianna added with a laugh. “We would be working ourselves to the breaking point… but the one thing we had every night was a cookie. It made it all better.”

For SZN4—comprised of Katie Roeder, Cameron Goode, Donzell Taggart, and Aaliyah Rose—the show offered something deeper than just performance. “I became the person that I’ve always dreamt of being,” Cameron shared. “It made me realize the gift that God gave me—and I found my people that love me for who I am.”

Soulidified—featuring Bradley Rittmann, Landon Boyce, Malik Heard, and Shade Jenifer—found their groove quickly. “We’re just pushing each other,” Landon said. “I sing to have my brothers on stage with me.” Malik added that their bond came through in performance: “Our first song together—‘You Remind Me’—really solidified us as a unit.”

    Harmony in the Halls

Every band agreed: the singing never stopped. “We have riff-offs all the time,” said Landon. “We randomly harmonize—just pushing each other.” For SZN4, the group would “mostly just sing to each other when we’re talking,” Aaliyah laughed. “It’s like our whole life turned into a musical.”

    The Message Behind the Music

Each artist echoed a similar hope for what viewers take away. “Do it scared,” said Nori. “Do it not knowing what’s going to happen. Override the fear.” Brianna added, “Every ‘no’ is bringing you where you’re supposed to be. Eventually it all makes sense.”

    Honoring a Legend

The show’s host AJ McLean and judges Kelly Rowland and the late Liam Payne—brought their own legacies into the experience. “You think about a group and you think about harmony,” Kelly said. “What harmony really means—and how we need that right now.”

AJ praised the cast’s authenticity: “The level of talent on this show surpassed my expectations. It’s been a privilege to watch these bands form. This is giving the power back to the artist.”

Both Kelly and AJ reflected on the unique light Liam Payne brought to the show before his untimely death. “His intuition, his one-liners, his sincerity,” Kelly said. “He brought so much light.” AJ added, “He lit up every room. He was encouraging, always. I’m glad we got to dedicate this show to him.”

The first season of Building the Band is streaming now on Netflix. Watch our interviews below.

  • Willam and Mistress Isabelle Brooks Go Head-to-Head in ‘Drag Race’ Drama Showdown

Willam and Mistress Isabelle Brooks Go Head-to-Head in ‘Drag Race’ Drama Showdown

What began as subtle shade has spiraled into full-blown digital warfare between RuPaul’s Drag Race royalty Willam and All Stars 10 standout Mistress Isabelle Brooks. The two queens, both known for their unapologetic opinions, razor-sharp wit, and fan-favorite chaos, are embroiled in an increasingly public and deeply personal back-and-forth that’s playing out in real time on YouTube. And trust, the library is wide open.

Round One: Willam Throws the First Punch

Willam has never been one to hold back, and in recent months, she’s taken aim at Mistress during podcast episodes, viewing parties, and social media posts. In a viral TikTok, Willam accused Mistress of being “a bully” and claimed she was kicked out of the Drag Race Season 15 group chat, on Christmas, no less. She doubled down, saying Mistress is “duplicitous and shady,” adding, “People want to go see queens that are fun, not glued to their phones backstage.”

And yet, the usually fiery Mistress kept her lips sealed, until now.

Round Two: Mistress Delivers a Precision Strike

Earlier this week, Mistress broke her silence with a jaw-dropping 15-minute YouTube video titled The BEATUP feat Willam (Confronting My Biggest Fan). Not only is it a not-so-subtle parody of Willam’s long-running Beatdown series, it’s a no-holds-barred read of the queen who’s been name-dropping her all year.

“I didn’t realize the power I had over him until many of you pointed it out,” Mistress begins, before diving into receipts, including alleged text messages and podcast invites from Willam. She accuses Willam of lying on podcasts, begging for collaborations, and misrepresenting their relationship for clout.

Mistress also drags Willam’s comments about her wardrobe, “frumpadump t-shirts,” in Willam’s words, calling her a desperate attention-seeker with a selective memory. “Willam, you have lied on my name time, after time, after time,” she says, with screenshots from Reddit and tabloid stories in tow.

Round Three: Willam Fires Back… Harder

If Mistress thought she’d get the last word, Willam had other plans. In her latest Willam Wednesday upload, the veteran queen responds point-by-point with the kind of brutal honesty and snark that made her a legend.

Willam claims Mistress has been playing both sides, publicly shading her while privately asking their shared manager for collaboration opportunities. “She wants to act like I’m obsessed with Drag Race,” Willam says, “but she’s the one constantly trying to work with me.”

Addressing the DragCon rumor that he waited in line for a RuPaul photo, Willam laughs it off. “She’s loud, but that doesn’t mean she’s right. I told her that on the phone, she didn’t like it.”

Willam goes on to criticize how Mistress treated fellow queen Aja during All Stars, claiming this YouTube dragfest is a strategic smokescreen to deflect from her own behavior. And when it comes to being called a clout chaser? Willam owns it. “I am. And what are you, girl?”

The Feud Heard ‘Round the Fandom

Comparisons to the Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake rap beef have already begun, except this time, it’s wigs instead of bars and YouTube thumbnails instead of album covers. But the intensity? Just as real.

Willam capped her video by saying, “If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen,” accusing Mistress of panicking over her fleeting spotlight. “You’re worried this fame might be going away, so you’re swinging at anyone nearby,” she added. “You’re indisputably, factually a b*tch.”

No word yet on whether Mistress will respond, but if history (and her heels) are any indication, another video might already be in the works.

Stay Tuned, Because This Isn’t Over

In the grand tradition of Drag Race drama, this saga is already one for the herstory books. With both queens armed with receipts, comebacks, and a fierce following, the Willam vs. Mistress feud is more than just a fight it’s appointment viewing.

So grab your popcorn, charge your phone, and stay subscribed. Because this YouTube beef? It’s far from done.

  • ‘South Park’ Skewers Trump and Paramount in Blistering Season 27 Premiere

‘South Park’ Skewers Trump and Paramount in Blistering Season 27 Premiere

Trey Parker and Matt Stone aren’t pulling punches. The creators of South Park returned for the animated show’s 27th season with a scorched-earth takedown of Donald Trump, their own corporate bosses at Paramount, and the media landscape at large.

Airing just hours after Paramount announced a $1.5 billion renewal deal with the duo, the episode, titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” is less a comeback and more a satirical firestorm aimed at everyone from Jesus to the FCC.

    Trump, Satan, and South Park

The episode kicks off with Trump, crudely animated using real photos, literally in bed with Satan, echoing the show’s 1999 depiction of Saddam Hussein. Satan even remarks, “You’re just like Saddam,” underlining the creators’ not-so-subtle point.

    https://www.tiktok.com/@morethanlaughspodcast/video/7530588997194714398?q=south%20park%20trump%20parody&t=1753384345277

Trump is portrayed as a lawsuit-happy authoritarian, suing the town of South Park for $5 billion after parents protest his push to install Christian teachings, and a physical Jesus, into their children’s school. When Jesus shows up at a town protest, he admits he’s only there because “it was part of a lawsuit and the agreement with Paramount.”

“You saw what happened to CBS? Guess who owns CBS? Paramount,” Jesus says through gritted teeth. “Do you want to end up like Colbert?”

    The Colbert Cancellation Conspiracy

The episode doesn’t shy away from the timing of Stephen Colbert’s Late Show cancellation, an event that, while publicly attributed to budget cuts, has sparked speculation that it was political. Colbert, a vocal critic of Trump, was axed shortly after Paramount paid $16 million to settle with the former president over a 60 Minutes interview he claimed was deceptively edited.

In the episode, fictional 60 Minutes anchors nervously report on the town’s turmoil, praising Trump mid-broadcast like they’re afraid of triggering another lawsuit. “He’s a great man,” one anchor stammers. “We know he’s probably watching.”

A Corporate Parody With Real Stakes

All this satire comes as Paramount prepares for a high-stakes merger with Skydance Media, a deal that must be greenlit by a Trump-appointed FCC. The show pokes fun at the tension by including FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who in real life said he doesn’t watch South Park but believes a handful of media companies shouldn’t “control the narrative.”

    @9tailedslvrfox

South Park aint making it the whole season😂🤣😂😂 This was greatness if I ever saw it. #southparkseason27 #tariffs #trumpisontheepstienlist #southpark #southparkfunnymoments

    ♬ original sound – 9tailedsilverfox

The episode ends with the town agreeing to pro-Trump messaging in a legal settlement, cutting to a bizarre, AI-style PSA of a nude Trump crawling through the desert.

    White House Fires Back

The White House wasted no time issuing a response to the episode. Spokeswoman Taylor Rogers dismissed the show as “fourth-rate” and “desperate for attention.”

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years,” she said, “and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas. President Trump has delivered on more promises in six months than any other president in history. and no cartoon can derail that.”

Rogers also criticized the left for what she described as hypocrisy: “For years they’ve attacked South Park for being offensive. Now they celebrate it? Pick a side.”

A New Era of South Park?

Despite the controversy, or perhaps because of it, South Park seems poised for another headline-grabbing run. The new five-year deal with Paramount calls for 50 more episodes, virtually guaranteeing that Parker and Stone will keep poking the bear, even if the bear is their own network.

If the premiere is any indication, the creators aren’t shying away from controversy, they’re embracing it, flamethrowers and all.

‘Wednesday’ Renewed for Season 3 Ahead of Season 2 Release

Netflix’s Wednesday—the eerie teen series that took the world by storm—isn’t done haunting your screens just yet. The streaming giant has officially renewed the gothic sensation for a third season ahead of its second season premiere, which drops in two parts on August 6 and September 3, 2025.

Originally premiering in November 2022, Wednesday became Netflix’s most popular English-language series of all time. Season 1 also made history as the first English TV show to hit 1 billion hours viewed in under three weeks and spent six consecutive weeks at #1 on the Netflix Global Top 10.

And the hype hasn’t slowed. Season 2 is already one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases of the year, especially since breaking the news that Lady Gaga will be making a cameo. Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor will also appear as series regulars and Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Joonas Suotamo will have guest roles.

    A Dark Delight

Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are excited to unleash another chapter of macabre mischief:

“It’s been a dark delight to watch Wednesday cast her spell over audiences across the globe—one deadpan quip at a time. We’re beyond thrilled she’ll be returning to stalk the halls of Nevermore in Season 3,” they said. “This time, she’ll unearth more of the school’s sinister secrets—and descend even deeper into the Addams family crypt. Or, as Wednesday would say: ‘Nothing brings a family together like a good exhumation.’”

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria added:

“The undeniable impact of Wednesday resonated immediately with fans worldwide… On the heels of its highly anticipated season two return, we are thrilled to renew the iconic series for a third and to deliver more of what the fans love.”

  • Sam Reid Teases Shirtless Rock God Lestat in ‘Interview With the Vampire’

Sam Reid Teases Shirtless Rock God Lestat in ‘Interview With the Vampire’

In a first look at the highly anticipated third season of Interview With the Vampire, the blood-soaked, queer love story finally puts Lestat front and center. Yes, the Brat Prince has the mic—and he’s not handing it back anytime soon.

Adapted from Anne Rice’s second Vampire Chronicles novel The Vampire Lestat (1985), Season 3 flips the script after two Louis-led seasons of longing, betrayal, and memory wars. The AMC series has always followed Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) as he recounts his (after)life with the seductive and chaotic Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), but now? Lestat’s done being someone else’s villain edit. In an exclusive shared by Entertainment Weekly, Reid confirms Lestat will narrate his own story—louder, flashier, and set to a blast of rock ’n’ roll and bisexual energy, naturally. “I can’t really believe we’re doing it,” Reid said. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘What the hell?!’”

For Lestat, music isn’t a costume—it’s a weapon. “Lestat has an intention to express his views and his experience through music, music videos, and recordings, and all this kind of stuff,” Reid says. “And they are finding a wonderful, cool way to weave that through a lot of the denser parts.” Translation: expect storytelling through spectacle.

And no rock star vampire is complete without numbers. Lucky for us, Season 3 is riddled with them. Reid started working closely with composer Daniel Hart long before shooting began. “Trying to work out the character’s arcs through the songs has been an adventure in itself,” he adds.

We don’t have track names yet, but Reid promises the sound will be “pure rock,” honoring Rice’s original vision of Lestat as a vampire rock god. Expect swagger, synth, maybe some glam influence, and big emotional swings.
