Troye Sivan Revealed He Has New Music Indeed Coming

Troye Sivan is ready to heat things up again. The “Bloom” singer recently revealed new details about his fourth studio album, hinting it will be as bold and sex-positive as ever.

In 2023, Sivan dropped his third LP, “Something to Give Each Other,” which he described as a celebration of “sex, dance, sweat, community, queerness, love, and friendship.” The record boasted 10 pop gems—including fan-favorite singles “Rush,” “One of Your Girls” and “Got Me Started”—and received widespread acclaim for its unapologetically queer lyrics, slick production and Sivan’s signature vocals.

Troye Sivan Confirms New Music is Indeed Coming

Critics weren’t the only ones who noticed. “Something to Give Each Other” snagged three Grammy nominations and took home two ARIA Music Awards, for Album of the Year and Best Pop Release. Still, while listeners continue to binge the album’s irresistible hooks, Sivan has his sights set firmly on what’s next.

During the 67th Grammy Awards, the “Blue Neighbourhood” artist—accompanied by longtime friend and collaborator Leland—told PRIDE he’s already in the studio cooking up new music. And if you thought “Something to Give Each Other” was sultry, brace yourselves for round two.

“I am really inspired by sex,” Sivan told the outlet. “We’re going into the studio tomorrow, literally!”

Beyond teasing more sexy sounds, the Australian pop star also underscored the significance of LGBTQIA+ representation at major events like the Grammys.

“[There’s an] unbelievable showing of resilience and strength. I think we have to look out for each other and have each other’s backs at the moment,” he said, adding, “I feel so proud to be a gay man [and] to be a queer man today more than ever.”

If you need even more proof Sivan isn’t holding back on the steamy details, look no further than his recent appearance in Grindr’s “Tap or Block?” video. Joined by several of his tour dancers, the 28-year-old singer gamely dished on topics like “hotel sex”—receiving a unanimous thumbs-up from the squad.

“I mean, if we didn’t [have hotel sex], then we would be celibate for seven months, which would be crazy,” Sivan joked.

When asked about a partner being “super hairy,” Sivan shrugged off any hesitations.

“It’s kinda hot,” he said, though one dancer, Mauro, disagreed. “For me, the ick is [when] you can tell they’ve shaved, and it’s growing back everywhere,” Sivan explained. “I’m like, girl, it’s fine. Know what I mean?”

The group also tackled other provocative prompts—like taking a nude next to an everyday object (for, ahem, size comparison), skipping a post-gym shower (for the musk, of course), satin sheets and open relationships—keeping the banter playful and revealing.

For a taste of Sivan’s candid sense of humor (and plenty of laughs), check out the full “Tap or Block?” clip below. As for his forthcoming album, fans will have to stay tuned. But if his latest confessions are any indication, Troye Sivan’s next era is set to be an even more electrifying mix of sultry pop anthems, unabashed queer visibility and fearless self-expression.

Orville Peck, the enigmatic country singer known for his signature mask, is gearing up for his Broadway debut in Cabaret at the August Wilson Theater this spring. On Tuesday, Peck shared a glimpse into his rehearsal process, offering fans a sneak peek at his preparations for the highly anticipated Broadway role. Fans are eagerly speculating whether new music is on the horizon for Peck or if the singer is hinting at an unmasked appearance in Cabaret. Of course, there’s also the burning question: can we meet Peck’s dog? While Peck didn’t provide answers to these questions, his post has certainly piqued interest as the theater world anticipates his Broadway debut.

Peck’s casting in Cabaret was officially announced in mid-January, and the news sent waves through both the Broadway and LGBTQ+ communities. The role of Emcee, a charismatic and often provocative character at the center of the musical, is one that has been a dream role for Peck since his teenage years. In an interview with Deadline, he shared his excitement: “The Emcee has been my dream role since I was a teenager. The nature of the character allows for complete freedom of individual expression. It can be portrayed through such a vast range of emotions, perspectives, and performance styles. That kind of freedom is every actor’s dream.”

Peck, who rose to fame as a country music artist in 2019, has roots in theater. Before his music career took off, he trained as an actor at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He also had a brief stint on the West End, appearing in Peter Pan Goes Wrong, showcasing his versatility as a performer.

“I truly cannot believe I’m getting to make my Broadway debut in one of my favorite shows, and in probably my favorite role in all of musical theater,” Peck shared with Deadline. He reflected on his career journey, adding, “I grew up in the theater. I was a working actor and a dancer for many years before I started making music. I did the hustle, and the struggle, for a long time, trying to make things happen for myself. But it taught me so much of who I am as a performer and a person, so it feels very full circle to be making a return to it at this point in my career.”

The excitement surrounding Peck’s Broadway debut is palpable, with fans eagerly awaiting his portrayal of the Emcee. The role is known for its complexity, charm, and daring nature, and it is often seen as a perfect fit for an artist like Peck, who blends raw emotion and creative expression in his music. For Peck, Cabaret is not only a professional milestone but also a deeply personal one, allowing him to return to the world of theater that shaped his early years.

As rehearsals continue, questions about what fans can expect from Peck’s take on the role are growing. Will he keep his iconic mask on during performances, or will he reveal his face? Will there be surprises in store, such as new music or special performances? Only time will tell. What is clear is that Orville Peck’s Broadway debut is one of the most anticipated events of the season, and fans are eager to see how his distinctive talents translate onto the stage.

Peck’s appearance in Cabaret is more than just a performance—it’s a culmination of years of hard work, passion, and perseverance in both the theater and music worlds. His journey to Broadway is a testament to the diverse paths artists take to reach their dreams, and his upcoming run as the Emcee promises to be an unforgettable chapter in his career. As the date draws closer, one thing is for certain: Orville Peck’s Broadway debut will be one for the history books.

Fans can stay updated on his Broadway journey and more by following Peck on social media, where he continues to share glimpses of his preparations and the exciting steps leading up to his debut.

  • We Can’t Stop Staring at Jonathan Bailey in ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ Thanks to This New Trailer

We Can’t Stop Staring at Jonathan Bailey in ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ Thanks to This New Trailer

The Jurassic Park franchise has always captivated audiences with its thrilling spectacle of dinosaurs, chaos, and larger-than-life action. Since the release of Steven Spielberg’s iconic 1993 film, the series has evolved through sequels, reboots, and reinventions, continuously delivering the same exhilaration of watching towering prehistoric creatures on screen. While some entries have faced mockery and criticism for their outlandish plots, the franchise’s mix of absurdity, star power, and entertainment has remained its core appeal.

With the release of the first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth on February 7, Universal Pictures has reignited that excitement, delivering a visual feast that promises even more high-stakes action. The film, slated to hit theaters in 2024, continues the saga five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion in 2022. While some fans may question the timeline’s consistency, the franchise’s commitment to delivering thrills over logical precision remains intact. Dinosaurs, after all, are not meant to be bound by reality.

In this new chapter, the world has become largely uninhabitable for dinosaurs, forcing the once-dominant creatures to seek refuge in a few remaining safe havens. Among them is the iconic original Jurassic Park, which has long been abandoned by humans due to its inherent dangers. Enter Scarlett Johansson, who plays Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert with a mission to retrieve DNA samples from the three largest dinosaurs in the world. The DNA is crucial to the development of a life-saving medical breakthrough. To accomplish her mission, Zora enlists the help of Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist played by Jonathan Bailey.

While there are certainly additional plot elements that will unfold, the trailer highlights the central dynamic between Johansson’s Zora and Bailey’s Henry, which promises to bring humor, suspense, and adventure in equal measure. One of the standout moments from the trailer showcases Bailey’s Henry as he gazes up in awe at a giant dinosaur, whispering, “Whoa, my god!” His expression of wonder echoes the audience’s likely reaction, as the film invites viewers into a world where awe and danger are intertwined.

The visual effects in Rebirth have notably improved, with the dinosaurs appearing more lifelike and less cartoonish than in some of the recent franchise installments. The CGI department has certainly stepped up its game, delivering impressive depictions of these prehistoric creatures in their full glory.

Jurassic World: Rebirth looks set to deliver its signature action-packed set pieces, with raptors returning to the fray and promises of even more thrilling sequences. However, what has always set the franchise apart is its ability to balance high-octane action with a sense of humor. The original Jurassic Park was as much a comedy as it was an action-horror film, with moments of light-hearted banter woven into the chaos. Early indications suggest that Rebirth will follow this tradition.

In one of the trailer’s lighter moments, Johansson’s Zora quips to Bailey’s Henry, “I can guarantee your safety. More or less,” to which Henry adorably responds, “More or less?!” This playful back-and-forth showcases the chemistry between the two leads. Bailey, who has earned widespread recognition for his roles in Bridgerton, Wicked, and Fellow Travelers, further proves his ability to deliver charming comedic moments.

Another humorous exchange comes between Bailey’s Henry and Rupert Friend’s character, Martin Krebs. When Krebs asks if they need to collect a sample from an egg, Henry sarcastically replies, “I suppose we could try to get it from the parent, but they’re a flying carnivore the size of an F16.” This exchange highlights Bailey’s impeccable comedic timing and adds a layer of levity to the otherwise high-stakes narrative.

Beyond the laughs and thrills, Jurassic World: Rebirth holds significant cultural importance, especially with Jonathan Bailey’s starring role. Bailey’s casting is notable not only for his immense talent but also for being one of the first openly gay actors to lead a blockbuster action film. His role in this high-profile project marks a milestone for LGBTQ+ representation in Hollywood, as he joins the ranks of major stars in a genre traditionally dominated by straight actors.

In addition to his acting prowess, Bailey’s charm and relatability have earned him a devoted fan base, and Rebirth is poised to solidify his status as a leading man in the industry. As he continues to captivate audiences with his performances, Bailey’s presence in a franchise as iconic as Jurassic World is a momentous step forward for LGBTQ+ visibility in mainstream cinema.

As the Jurassic World franchise continues to evolve, Rebirth promises to deliver everything fans love about the series: action, humor, and, of course, dinosaurs. Whether you’re in it for the thrills, the laughs, or the spectacle, this latest installment looks set to offer it all—along with a fresh dose of star power from Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey. With Rebirth, the adventure is far from over.

  • Jacques Audiard Says He’s Had No Contact with Karla Sofía Gascón Since Her Apology, Calls Her Behavior ‘Self-Destructive’

Jacques Audiard Says He’s Had No Contact with Karla Sofía Gascón Since Her Apology, Calls Her Behavior ‘Self-Destructive’

Director Jacques Audiard has broken his silence regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding Emilia Pérez star Karla Sofía Gascón, whose Oscar campaign has been marred by the resurfacing of racist and controversial tweets. The director, in a recent interview with Deadline, expressed his disappointment in Gascón’s behavior and distanced himself from the actress, stating that he does not understand why she continues to make decisions that could harm herself and those around her.

“I haven’t spoken to her, and I don’t want to,” Audiard said, emphasizing that he does not feel the need to engage with Gascón, whom he described as being in a “self-destructive” state. He further questioned her motives, saying, “Why is she harming herself? Why? I don’t understand it, and what I don’t understand about this too is why she’s harming people who were very close to her.”

The controversy stems from Gascón’s social media posts from 2020 and 2021, which sparked outrage when they resurfaced in late January. The posts, which addressed sensitive topics such as George Floyd’s death, Muslims, and the COVID-19 pandemic, were widely condemned and led to a significant backlash. Gascón’s actions subsequently undermined her Oscar campaign for Best Actress, and have also impacted Emilia Pérez as a whole. Actress Zoe Saldaña, a frontrunner for Best Supporting Actress, publicly disavowed Gascón’s remarks, and Netflix reportedly distanced itself from the actress, removing her image from promotional materials and not inviting her to upcoming award season events.

Despite the growing fallout, Gascón has continued to defend herself publicly and deactivated accounts online. In an effort to address the damage caused by her statements, she appeared in an interview with CNN in Spanish and posted a lengthy statement on Instagram, asserting that she is not racist. However, Audiard expressed frustration with Gascón’s approach, particularly her victim-blaming rhetoric.

“She’s really playing the victim,” Audiard said. “She’s talking about herself as a victim, which is surprising. It’s as if she thought that words don’t hurt.” He expressed disbelief at her attempts to downplay the gravity of her actions.

In her initial statement following the controversy, Gascón acknowledged the hurt caused by her past posts. “As someone in a marginalized community, I know this suffering all too well, and I am deeply sorry to those I have caused pain,” she said. “All my life I have fought for a better world. I believe light will always triumph over darkness.”

While Gascón’s scandal has stolen much of the attention surrounding Emilia Pérez, the film itself has faced its own criticisms. Some members of the Latino community have expressed dissatisfaction with the portrayal of Mexican culture in the film, prompting Audiard to respond. The director defended his creative vision, explaining that Emilia Pérez was intended as an opera rather than a realistic depiction of Mexico. “It seems I’m being attacked in the court of realism. Well, I’ve never claimed that I wanted to make a realistic work,” Audiard said. “If I wanted to make a work that was particularly documented, then I would do a documentary, but then there would be no singing and dancing.”

Audiard further addressed a review that criticized the film for including photocopiers in night markets, a claim he dismissed as misguided. “In night markets in Mexico City, one also doesn’t sing and dance,” he noted. “You have to accept that is part of the magic here. This is an opera, not a criticism of anything about Mexico.”

Emilia Pérez has certainly faced its share of hurdles, but Audiard is steadfast in his commitment to the project. The film’s unique blend of opera, musicality, and emotional depth, according to the director, is central to the story he is telling—one that is not bound by the constraints of realism.

As the controversy continues to unfold, it remains unclear what the future holds for both Emilia Pérez and Gascón’s career. While Audiard has made it clear that he no longer wishes to engage with Gascón, the actress continues to address the fallout from her past statements. Whether the film and its stars can overcome the ongoing scrutiny is yet to be seen, but Audiard remains focused on his artistic vision, confident that his work will be judged on its own terms rather than the controversy surrounding Gascón.

  • ‘School Spirits’ Season 2 is Gayer, Hotter, and Full of Twists!

‘School Spirits’ Season 2 is Gayer, Hotter, and Full of Twists!

Grab your Ouija boards and brace yourselves—School Spirits is back for season two, and things are about to get real supernatural! Following the jaw-dropping finale of season one, our ghostly heroine Maddie Nears (Peyton List) is on a mission to uncover the truth behind her spectral existence. But this time, she’s not just sleuthing from beyond the grave—she’s bridging the gap between the afterlife and the land of the living.

    A Hauntingly Good Time

Season two of School Spirits picks up right where we left off, with Maddie realizing she must unite both her ghostly and living friends if she ever hopes to reclaim her life. As she digs deeper, new secrets unravel, shocking alliances form, and the stakes get higher. And yes, according to Nick Pugliese, who plays Charlie, this season is “gayer and hotter.”

That’s the kind of haunting we love to see!

Meet the Cast and Their Characters

The show features a diverse and captivating ensemble:

    • Peyton List as Maddie Nears – A high-school girl caught between life and death, watching her own disappearance unfold from the afterlife. With the help of other spirits stuck in limbo, she seeks the truth about how she got there and whether she can return.
    • Kristian Flores as Simon Elroy – Maddie’s best friend and the only living person who can communicate with her. He is determined to solve the mystery of her disappearance, though his own perception of reality is challenged along the way.
    • Kiara Pichardo as Nicole Herrera – Maddie’s fiercely loyal best friend in the living world, who works tirelessly to uncover the truth—though she has some secrets of her own.
    • Milo Manheim as Wally Clark – A charming 1980s football player who died in a tragic on-field accident and provides much of the afterlife’s comic relief.
    • Spencer MacPherson as Xavier Baxter – Maddie’s ex-boyfriend, whose actions before her disappearance make him a suspect, but who is just as eager to uncover the truth.
    • Nick Pugliese as Charley – One of the first ghosts Maddie befriends, who is dealing with his own unresolved past while supporting his newfound friends.
    • Rainbow Wedell as Claire Zomer – The school’s queen bee and a childhood friend of Maddie’s with hidden layers beneath her mean-girl exterior.
    • Josh Zuckerman as Mr. Martin – A former teacher and ghostly guide for spirits trapped at the school—though his true intentions may not be as benevolent as they seem.

Fashion in the Afterlife: Ghostly Drip

One of the show’s quirkiest rules is that ghosts are stuck wearing the same outfit for eternity (tragic!). So, we had to ask the cast what their ghost look would be if they had a choice. Kristian Ventura is all about practicality: “I’ve always been a huge fan of pockets. Pockets, like a trench coat, just to have everything… Tools, flashlight, matches. Maybe some canned food.” Meanwhile, Rainbow Wedell loves Claire’s cheerleader outfit (but only if it were comfy), and Kiara Pichardo is embracing a Tumblr-era dream with tights, shorts, and a flannel jacket. Spencer MacPherson? He’s strategizing: “I would want to wear something with a lot of layers… kind of like Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense* so you never really know what’s going on.”* A man with a plan!

    Real-Life Ghost Encounters?

Playing spirits on screen apparently comes with its own set of eerie experiences. MacPherson swears he stayed in a haunted Airbnb in Burbank (“110% haunted”), while Ventura recalls a childhood church visit where he was inexplicably trapped inside, screaming for his mom—only for her to claim she never heard a thing. If that doesn’t send chills down your spine, what will?

Mystery, Mayhem, and… a Possible New Ship?

While the supernatural whodunit continues to unfold, fans might also be in for a new enemies-to-lovers surprise. Could there be a spark between Claire and Nicole? “We were pulled into a circumstance that we probably didn’t plan, but we were kind of forced to work together,” teases Pichardo. Wedell adds, “That’s where the most genuine friendships come out of—honesty.” Are we manifesting a new queer ship? Absolutely.

More Queer Representation? We Love to See It

The show has already won over LGBTQ+ audiences with its heartfelt and realistic portrayal of queer relationships, particularly Charlie and Emilio’s storyline. Pugliese recalled a gym-goer approaching him to say their real-life experience mirrored the one on-screen, proving just how impactful this representation is.

And when asked for a one-word tease about season two? “Gayer.”

    Sold.

    Where to Watch

The new season of School Spirits is now streaming exclusively on Paramount+, with episodes dropping every Thursday. So grab your popcorn and tune in—because this season is one hauntingly fun ride!

  • Netflix Pulls Back Support for Karla Sofía Gascón Amid Controversy, Oscar Campaign in Limbo

Netflix Pulls Back Support for Karla Sofía Gascón Amid Controversy, Oscar Campaign in Limbo

A new report reveals that Netflix is quietly distancing itself from Karla Sofía Gascón, the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an acting Oscar, following a series of controversial social media posts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gascón’s role in the film Emilia Pérez had initially positioned her as a frontrunner for awards season, but recent controversies have led the streaming giant to halt its support for her involvement in the campaign.

Gascón, who made history with her nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, was set to attend a number of key awards events, including the AFI Awards luncheon, Critics Choice Awards, and the PGA Awards. However, reports indicate that Netflix has opted not to cover her travel, accommodation, or other associated costs for these events. Tensions reportedly escalated between the actress and the studio, leading to the removal of her name from promotional materials, such as email blasts and ad reads. Additionally, some events, including the Santa Barbara Film Festival, were said to be considering canceling their plans to feature Emilia Pérez if Gascón did not withdraw from participation.

    From Oscar Glory to Controversy

Emilia Pérez received widespread critical acclaim upon its release and made history with a record 13 Oscar nominations. Gascón’s role as the titular character, Emilia Pérez, cemented her place in LGBTQ+ history as the first openly transgender person to be nominated for an acting Oscar. However, her path to the Oscars has been marred by increasing scrutiny over past social media posts.

In late January, Gascón sparked a wave of controversy when she accused Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres—who is also nominated for Best Actress for her performance in I’m Still Here—of orchestrating a social media attack against her as a trans woman and against Emilia Pérez as a film. However, these claims were quickly debunked. Social media responses came predominantly from independent film critics and Brazilian fans of Torres who supported her Oscar campaign—not from any coordinated effort as Gascón had suggested.

The accusations were followed by the resurfacing of several old posts from Gascón’s social media accounts. These posts, dating back to the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, included controversial opinions about various topics, including Islam, Muslims, George Floyd, and singer Adele. The discovery of these posts led to a wave of public backlash. Some of Gascón’s remarks were viewed as offensive, leading to further scrutiny of her character during the critical awards season.

Gascón Responds and Netflix Takes a Step Back

In response to the uproar over her past social media activity, Gascón issued an apology through a press statement, acknowledging the harm caused by her earlier comments. “I want to acknowledge the conversation around my past social media posts that have caused hurt,” she told Variety. “As someone in a marginalized community, I know this suffering all too well and I am deeply sorry to those I have caused pain. All my life, I have fought for a better world. I believe light will always triumph over darkness.”

In an effort to distance herself from the controversy, Gascón deactivated her social media accounts. “I’m sorry, but I can no longer allow this campaign of hate and misinformation to affect me and my family, so at their request I am closing my account on X,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. She also spoke candidly about the threats and harassment she has received, adding, “I have been threatened with death, insulted, abused and harassed to the point of exhaustion. I have a wonderful daughter to protect, whom I love madly and who supports me in everything.”

Despite the fallout, Gascón’s nomination remains intact, and she has made it clear that she does not intend to withdraw from the Oscar race. Speaking to CNN en Español, Gascón explained, “I cannot renounce a nomination because what I have done is a job, and what is being valued is my acting work. I cannot renounce a nomination, either, because I have not committed any crime nor have I harmed anyone. I am not a racist nor am I anything that all these people have taken upon themselves to try to make others believe that I am.”

    A Film in Crisis

The situation has raised significant questions about the intersection of celebrity, social media, and awards campaigning. While Emilia Pérez had originally garnered attention for its historic Oscar nominations, Gascón’s public controversies have thrown a shadow over the film’s path to the Academy Awards. The film, which has received critical praise, now finds itself in a difficult position as it navigates the aftermath of the social media backlash.

The report from The Hollywood Reporter also highlights the internal tensions between Gascón and Netflix as they navigate the fallout. The decision to remove Gascón’s name from promotional materials and halt her participation in key events underscores the complexities of balancing support for a groundbreaking nomination with the realities of public relations in the #MeToo and cancel culture era.

As the Oscar race continues, all eyes will remain on the impact of these controversies on Gascón’s chances and the future of Emilia Pérez. The unfolding situation serves as a stark reminder of the challenges celebrities and films face in the age of social media, where past actions can resurface to impact present-day careers.

For Gascón, the battle is far from over. With her nomination still in place, she remains resolute in defending her body of work, despite the public scrutiny surrounding her personal history. The next few weeks will likely determine whether she can overcome the controversy or if her Oscar campaign will be overshadowed by the fallout from her past social media activity.

  • Alicia Keys Delivers Powerful DEI Message at the 2025 Grammys

Alicia Keys Delivers Powerful DEI Message at the 2025 Grammys

Alicia Keys took center stage at the 2025 Grammy Awards not only to accept accolades for her work in music but also to advocate for a vital cause: diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the music industry. The renowned singer, songwriter, and activist used her moment at the prestigious event to speak out against the silencing of marginalized voices, emphasizing the power and importance of inclusivity.

Keys, 44, who has long been an outspoken advocate for social justice issues, delivered a poignant message that resonated deeply with the industry’s ongoing discussions about representation. Her remarks came after the music industry has faced growing scrutiny over issues of diversity and inclusivity, especially in an era where calls for systemic change have reached a boiling point.

“This is not the time to shut down a diversity of voices,” Keys said during her appearance at the ceremony, which was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2. “We’ve seen on this stage talented, hardworking people with different points of view and it changes the game. DEI is not a threat, it’s a gift.”

Her words were both a call to action and a reflection of her ongoing mission to ensure that underrepresented voices in the music industry are amplified. For Keys, DEI is not just a buzzword but a foundational principle that enriches the industry by fostering a broader spectrum of artistic expression, cultural diversity, and social consciousness. Her message was a direct challenge to anyone who may view the emphasis on DEI as an obstacle or a threat to the status quo.

Keys’ commitment to diversity and inclusion has been a consistent theme throughout her career, both in her music and in her activism. Over the years, she has used her platform to shed light on the struggles of marginalized communities, particularly people of color, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. At the 2025 Grammys, her call for inclusivity underscored the industry’s need for continuous evolution in the face of a rapidly changing cultural landscape.

The statement came as part of a broader conversation at the 67th annual Grammy Awards, where issues of representation, fairness, and access were frequently discussed. The Recording Academy, which oversees the Grammys, has faced pressure in recent years to ensure that the award show reflects a diverse range of artists and genres, moving beyond traditional norms to showcase talent from all walks of life.

Keys’ DEI message was met with applause from both the audience in attendance and viewers watching around the world. It echoed the sentiments of other influential figures in the music world who have long advocated for a more inclusive industry. By spotlighting the importance of diverse perspectives, Keys reminded the Grammy audience that music is at its best when it reflects the multiplicity of experiences and voices that shape it.

In addition to her activism, Keys also made history at the 2025 Grammys as the recipient of the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. The honor was a testament to her enduring influence in both music and philanthropy. Her contributions to the industry have not only reshaped the soundscape but also inspired countless artists to pursue their own dreams with authenticity and purpose.

That evening, Keys also celebrated the success of Hell’s Kitchen, a Broadway musical inspired by her life story. The musical, which premiered in April 2024, won the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. In a video shared on her Instagram Story, Keys expressed her excitement over the win, exclaiming, “We’re at the Grammys, we’re having a ball already. Hell’s Kitchen just won. They didn’t even start, the night hadn’t even started. We’re having a ball. Big love.”

Throughout her career, Keys has remained a tireless advocate for both artistic freedom and social justice. Her DEI message at the Grammys was just the latest chapter in her ongoing journey to elevate those who have historically been excluded from mainstream narratives.

Her remarks come at a pivotal moment when conversations around diversity, inclusion, and accessibility have taken on new urgency. As the music industry grapples with the need for greater representation, figures like Alicia Keys continue to lead the charge for a more equitable future.

For Keys, the Grammy stage is not just a platform to showcase her own work but also an opportunity to amplify the voices of those who are often overlooked. By framing DEI as a gift rather than a challenge, she invites the industry to embrace a more inclusive approach, one that recognizes the value of diversity and the transformative impact it can have on the art of music.

The 2025 Grammys will likely be remembered not only for its musical performances and award wins but also for the bold statements made by artists like Alicia Keys, who are unafraid to speak up for those who have long been silenced. As the music industry continues to evolve, it is clear that the call for diversity and inclusion will remain central to the conversation, and Alicia Keys will undoubtedly continue to be at the forefront of this movement.

  • Lady Gaga’s Powerful Message to Trans People at the 2025 Grammys

Lady Gaga’s Powerful Message to Trans People at the 2025 Grammys

During the 2025 Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga used her platform to deliver a heartfelt and powerful message in support of the trans community, stating, “Trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The Queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love.”

Her words came as part of a moving tribute to Los Angeles, which was reeling from the aftermath of devastating wildfires. Gaga, who has long been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, joined Bruno Mars for a stripped-down rendition of “California Dreamin’,” a 1965 classic by The Mamas & the Papas. Their performance, which followed a harrowing video that depicted the wildfires’ toll on the Los Angeles community, left a lasting impression on the audience, as both artists paid homage to the city they love.

“I love you, California,” Gaga said at the conclusion of the performance, a sentiment that sparked an emotional standing ovation from the crowd. Grammys host Trevor Noah, who guided the ceremony, echoed Gaga’s message and reminded viewers to support the ongoing MusiCares fire relief efforts, which were created by the Recording Academy to aid those impacted by the wildfires.

A Heartfelt Tribute to California and the Queer Community

Gaga’s poignant message for the trans and queer community stood out as one of the most significant moments of the evening. At a time when trans visibility and rights continue to face challenges across the globe, her declaration was a powerful reminder of the importance of love, acceptance, and representation.

During the performance, Gaga and Mars took to the stage with minimal instrumentation, creating an intimate moment that underscored the song’s theme of longing and nostalgia. The stripped-down version of “California Dreamin’” was not only a tribute to the city’s resilience but also a symbol of hope for those affected by the wildfires. Gaga’s words and performance underscored her long-standing commitment to advocating for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly trans individuals who often face invisibility and discrimination.

Before taking the stage for the tribute, Gaga had been vocal about her desire to contribute something hopeful to the night. During a prior FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles, Gaga reflected on the tragedy caused by the wildfires, telling the crowd that she and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, had written a new song specifically for the occasion. “When I was thinking about what to sing tonight, I thought I wanted to do something hopeful,” Gaga said at the FireAid event. “This song is just for tonight. It’s just for you.” Her words at both events clearly emphasized her dedication to spreading love and uplifting those in need, especially within the queer community.

A Historic Night for LGBTQ+ Artists at the Grammys

The 2025 Grammy Awards were a major milestone for queer representation in music, with several LGBTQ+ artists taking center stage throughout the ceremony. Gaga’s performance was part of a larger focus on queer visibility, with artists such as Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Troye Sivan earning recognition and taking the stage during the event.

This year, the Grammys featured multiple queer voices in both performances and nominations, further solidifying the message that LGBTQ+ artists are not only present but thriving in the music industry. Gaga’s statement, standing in solidarity with trans people, was a call to action for the broader community to be seen, heard, and loved for who they are.

A Moment to Reflect and Take Action

Gaga’s call to action for the trans community was not only a personal reflection but also a public challenge to the industry at large. Her message that “music is love” tied into the broader theme of unity and support that transcended the evening’s celebrations. It was a reminder that while music has the power to heal, inspire, and unite, it also has the responsibility to lift up marginalized voices and ensure that everyone is heard.

As the ceremony unfolded, many presenters and artists echoed the importance of supporting those affected by the wildfires and contributing to relief efforts. However, Gaga’s words served as a poignant reminder that the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, and specifically the visibility and protection of trans people, continues to be a crucial conversation.

With her heartfelt tribute and message of love, Gaga once again proved why she remains one of the most influential voices in music today—using her platform not only to entertain but to advocate for change and equality for all.

  • Lady Gaga Debuts New Song ‘Abracadabra’ During Grammys Commercial Break

Lady Gaga Debuts New Song ‘Abracadabra’ During Grammys Commercial Break

Lady Gaga surprised fans during the 65th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night by premiering her new song, “Abracadabra,” in a unique, out-of-the-spotlight move. Instead of performing on stage during the ceremony, the pop icon used the commercial break to officially unveil the track, along with its accompanying music video. This marked the first official single from her highly anticipated upcoming album Mayhem, which is set to release on March 7.

The debut had been teased for several days leading up to the event, though the song’s title remained under wraps until its reveal. Last week, Gaga shared details of Mayhem, her seventh studio album, which follows 2020’s Chromatica. Prior to this, the album had been referred to as “LG7,” as it was Gaga’s seventh full-length project. However, this count excludes her 2023 jazz/standards album Harlequin, which she referred to as album 6.5, meaning Mayhem marks her official return to pop music.

While many had speculated that Gaga would debut the song on stage, she opted for a different approach, surprising fans during the quieter moments of the broadcast. “Abracadabra” was featured as part of the commercial break, an unconventional yet strategic move that allowed her to capture the attention of viewers during one of the show’s inevitable pauses. Alongside the song, the accompanying music video premiered, adding a visual element to the release.

This wasn’t Gaga’s only appearance at the Grammys, however. Earlier in the show, she joined Bruno Mars for a heartfelt duet of “California Dreamin’” by The Mamas and the Papas. The performance, which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, was a tribute to the spirit of the city, acknowledging the devastation of the tragic wildfires that ravaged Southern California in early January. The soulful rendition of the iconic song served as a powerful moment of reflection and solidarity in the wake of the disaster.

The release of “Abracadabra” marks the second single from Mayhem following the December drop of “Disease.” Earlier this year, Gaga also released “Die With a Smile,” a collaboration with Mars that fans can expect to hear on the upcoming album. All three tracks appear to be building momentum for Mayhem, which has already generated considerable buzz due to Gaga’s return to pop music.

In a statement released alongside the announcement of the album, Gaga described Mayhem as a deeply personal project. “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” she said. The singer also spoke about the emotional journey that led to the album, saying that Mayhem is about “reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”

Gaga’s reflective statement hints at the emotional depth of Mayhem, suggesting that it will be an album that not only revisits her pop roots but also explores themes of healing and self-discovery. Fans can expect more of the emotional honesty and raw vulnerability that has defined her work throughout her career.

The debut of “Abracadabra” wasn’t the only moment Gaga had been preparing for in recent days. Prior to her appearance at the Grammys, the singer performed at FireAid, a charity event aimed at supporting victims of the California wildfires. There, she premiered another new song, one that she had specifically written for the event. However, this track is not expected to be part of Mayhem, further indicating that Gaga has a wealth of new material ready for release.

As the countdown to Mayhem continues, fans are eagerly awaiting more details about the album, which promises to blend the larger-than-life pop sound Gaga is known for with a more introspective, personal perspective. With the Grammy debut of “Abracadabra,” it’s clear that the artist is continuing to push the boundaries of what fans expect while staying true to the authenticity that has made her one of the biggest stars of the 21st century.

In addition to her music career, Gaga remains one of the most influential figures in pop culture. From acting to advocacy, she has proven time and again that her impact extends far beyond the music industry. As Mayhem inches closer to its release, fans can only anticipate what the next chapter in Gaga’s career will bring.

    Planning Their Dream Wedding

The pair had always envisioned a “timeless, unique experience” for their wedding, which was carefully planned to reflect their shared love for the beach and the ocean. “Mark and I both have a deep love for the beach and the ocean and some of our favorite, romantic, lifelong memories together are by the beach,” Hoying explained. The couple’s connection to the seaside city of Santa Barbara was solidified after they celebrated Manio’s birthday there, making it the perfect setting for their nuptials.

Hoying had proposed to Manio in April 2022 during a romantic trip to the Bahamas, and the two were excited to continue creating beautiful memories together. Their wedding marked the beginning of a new chapter, one filled with love, creativity, and mutual respect.

Looking Ahead to the 2025 Grammys

As the 2025 Grammy Awards continue to unfold, Scott Hoying’s career is at an exciting juncture. With his Grammy nomination for “Rose Without the Thorns,” Hoying is proving his ability to stand on his own as an artist while continuing to shine as a member of Pentatonix. The recognition of his solo work, particularly a song with such a personal connection, demonstrates the depth of his talent and his ability to craft music that resonates with both his fans and the industry.

Whether he wins the Grammy for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella or not, Hoying has already achieved a significant milestone in his career. His journey from sneaking into awards shows to being a Grammy-nominated artist is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and the love that inspires his music.

As the 2025 Grammys continue, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next for Hoying and Manio — both in terms of their music and their personal journey together.
