Lady Gaga says she wore a bulletproof vest while singing at President Joe Biden’s inauguration earlier this year.
While speaking with British Vogue, the “Born This Way,” singer said it was one of the proudest days of her life.
“Like many people in America, I felt a deep fear when Trump was president, and ushering 45 out, and 46 in is something I’ll be able to tell my children all about singing in a Schiaparelli + bulletproof dress.”

On January 6, 2021, a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol to protest the election results. In the interview, Gaga also revealed she walked around the U.S. + Capitol the day before the inauguration “looking for evidence of insurrection.” She said if she wasn’t the Lady Gaga we know today, she would have been a combat journalist.
