David Archuleta Breaks Free in Powerful New Memoir ‘Devout’

David Archuleta is telling his story—and this time, he’s not leaving anything out.

The pop star and American Idol finalist has announced his upcoming memoir, Devout (Losing My Faith to Find Myself), hitting bookshelves in February 2026. Described as “a raw and powerful coming-out story,” the book traces Archuleta’s path from closeted Mormon teen to international pop star to openly queer man. It explores the hidden pressures of fame, the emotional toll of religious expectations, and the courage it takes to choose yourself—over everything else.

On the Pride Podcast, Archuleta opened up about what inspired the book. “I’m writing a whole book that touches on things like American Idol and growing up Mormon,” he said. “How do you come to terms with your sexuality when you’ve resisted it all your life and were told it was bad?”

He went on to explain the emotional unlearning that came with accepting his identity. “How do you program yourself out of thinking you’re the worst thing to exist on the planet to find love and compassion for yourself?” he asked.

At 17, David Archuleta rose to fame as the runner-up on American Idol Season 7, charming millions with his powerhouse vocals and wide-eyed sincerity. But while the spotlight made him a household name, it also made it harder to hide the truth he was carrying: he liked boys—and his church told him that made him broken.

In Devout, Archuleta pulls back the curtain on that double life. He writes candidly about the suffocating pressure he faced—from the control of his father, who reportedly banned him from the Idol set, to the fear instilled by his faith. The book traces his journey through years of emotional manipulation, internalized shame, and the exhausting mental gymnastics of trying to be “good” while feeling fundamentally wrong.

He doesn’t hold back. Archuleta recounts the pain of three failed engagements, the loneliness of his two-year mission trip in South America, and the darkest moments when he questioned whether life was worth living at all. But more than anything, Devout is about what happens when you decide to stop hiding—and finally start choosing yourself.

“I think if you can show people that you can still be you and be happy,” he told Pride, “then you start breaking down those walls.”

Rebel Wilson Reveals She Lost Her Virginity at 35 in New Memoir

“People can wait till they’re ready or wait till they’re a bit more mature.”

Rebel Wilson is super excited about her new book, Rebel Rising, coming out next week. She told People all about it, like how she waited until she was 35 to have sex for the first time. Rebel says it’s okay to wait until you’re ready, and there’s no rush to grow up too fast.

    It’s Okay to Wait

Rebel thinks it’s important for everyone to know they don’t have to hurry into grown-up stuff like sex. She waited until she felt mature and ready, and she’s proud of it. She hopes her story will help other people feel okay about waiting too.

    Rebel’s Relationships

Rebel had her first big romance in 2015 with Mickey Gooch Jr. But in 2022, she shared something new: she’s dating Ramona Agruma! Rebel thought she was looking for a prince but then realized maybe she needed a princess. She also started a dating app called Fluid because she believes love is about the person, not their gender.

    Exploring Who You Are

Rebel calls herself a “late bloomer” because she took her time figuring out her feelings and who she’s attracted to. After her dad passed away, she started thinking more about love and even began exploring her feelings for women. She believes it’s important to be true to yourself and explore who you are when you’re ready.

Rebel Wilson’s story in Rebel Rising is all about being yourself, taking your time, and loving who you love. She hopes her book will make everyone feel more comfortable being who they are.

Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson will tell all in her new memoir, Rebel Rising.

In an interview with People, Rebel Wilson shared that her book will unveil all her “life’s deepest secrets,” a prospect she finds “somewhat daunting.”

Apart from dishing out her Hollywood anecdotes, potentially involving Brad Pitt and her Pitch Perfect co-stars, Wilson will delve into the lesser-known aspects of her life.

“That was my first hurdle that I had to overcome,” she said. “I know a lot of people think I’m exactly like my characters like Fat Amy … but then there are just other sides.”

For example, Wilson said most people are shocked to find out she has a law degree and lived in Africa for a year.

    Wilson Gets Emotional

The 43-year-old will also delve into deeper emotional themes.

“There’s a lot of stories and personal stuff that I’ve never ever talked about. The book is this forum because it’s me just sitting down telling my own story, and that was the right forum for some of these more emotional things.

Since being forced to come out last summer, Wilson announced her engagement to Ramona Agruma in February. She also unveiled plans for a new dating app, began filming her inaugural directorial feature, and joyously welcomed her first child via surrogate last autumn.

At first, Wilson had a hard time finding the right voice for her memoir. However, she eventually found success by imagining she was talking to a dear friend and by revisiting her old diaries.

“It was crazy to see my mindset and to see where I was at at those different ages, like 16 or 23, or getting rejected from all these drama schools and just being completely rejected, being an actor, and then thinking, ‘Oh, is this really what I should be doing with my life?’ To have those original letters and diary entries — interesting to go back and remember.”

Prince Harry Reveals Whether He’s Cut or Uncut

Prince Harry spills the tea on whether he’s cut or uncut in juicy “Spare” memoir.

In his recently released memoir “Spare,” Prince Harry, 38, addressed a long-standing rumor surrounding him and his brother Prince William — whether or not they are circumcised.

    Are the Royals Circumcised?

Circumcision is a common practice in many cultures around the world. It has been a traditional practice among the British Royal Family for generations. It is said that King Edward VII, the grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II, was the first British royal to be circumcised. Since then, it has been a tradition that male members of the Royal Family are circumcised.

In his book, The Duke of Sussex revealed he and William, 40, were circumcised. Harry writes, “There were countless stories in books and papers (even The New York Times) about Willy and me not being circumcised. Mummy had forbidden it, they all said, and while it’s absolutely true that the chance of getting penile frostbite is much greater if you’re not circumcised, all the stories were false. I was snipped as a baby.”

The revelation was made as Harry recounted a frostbite incident during his oldest brother’sbrother’s pre-wedding dinner. On the cold excursion, Harry suffered frostbite on his ears and cheeks but initially left out the fact that his genitals had also been affected by the cold weather. He writes, “Upon arriving home, I’d been horrified to discover that my nether regions were frost nipped as well. And while the ears and cheeks were already healing, the todger wasn’twasn’t. It was becoming more of an issue by the day.”

Harry initially used cream advised by a friend to treat his frostbitten member but later sought professional medical attention. The doctor he consulted stated, “time heals.” Fortunately, Harry healed.
