Everything We Know About the ‘Mean Girls’ Musical Movie – Release Date, Cast, and More!

To celebrate, Paramount has gone all out. The studio has updated all their socials to be decked out in pink, uploaded the entire Mean Girls movie to TikTok for free streaming, and given us the official theatrical release date for the Mean Girls the Musical movie.

Initially slated for a debut on Paramount+, the Mean Girls musical movie will instead hit theaters on January 12, 2024. It may be a Friday, but we will have our pink outfits ready!

What is the Mean Girls Movie?

Nearly two decades have passed since the original film, featuring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried, graced the screen. Since it’s premiere, this cinematic gem has blossomed into a beloved cult classic, sprinkled with iconic catchphrases and even earning its own dedicated national day.

Following the success of the 2004 movie, the story was adapted into a hit Broadway musical in 2018. Now, Paramount Pictures are returning the Mean Girls to screens once more in a movie adaptation of the musical.

Meet the (Very Queer) Cast

Angourie Rice (Honor Society) takes the lead as Cady Heron, stepping into the iconic role initially portrayed by Lindsay Lohan in the film.

Janis Sarkisian, will be portrayed by the bisexual actor Auli’i Cravalho (Moana and Crush).

Damian will be brought to life by Tony-nominated queer actor Jaquel Spivey (A Strange Loop).

Reneé Rapp (Sex Lives of College Girls) reprises her Broadway role as the Queen of Mean, Regina George.

Heartthrob Christopher Briney (The Summer I Turned Pretty) will play the infamous Aaron Samuels.
