  • Colton Haynes Says Dream Role Would Be in ‘CSI: West Hollywood’ If There Ever Was One (Exclusive)

Colton Haynes Says Dream Role Would Be in ‘CSI: West Hollywood’ If There Ever Was One (Exclusive)

Colton Haynes has a bold new idea for the small screen—one that would mix high drama, queer visibility, and a whole lot of West Hollywood flair.

In a recent conversation with Gayety at The Tryst Puerto Vallarta opening, the Teen Wolf and Arrow star hinted at his desire to return to television in a fresh and fabulous way. The concept? A queer-centric spinoff of one of TV’s most iconic crime franchises.

“I want to create a show called CSI: West Hollywood,” Haynes said with a laugh. “I’m serious—it’d be fierce. All queer investigators solving fabulous crimes. Give me glitter, high heels, and murder mysteries.”

While the pitch was made with a dose of humor, it’s clear Haynes is thinking creatively about how LGBTQ+ stories can evolve in mainstream entertainment. The actor, who has built a career on genre-defining roles, is ready for his next chapter—and he’s hoping it includes storytelling that puts queer characters at the center of the action.

From Teen Wolf to Hollywood Visionary

Colton Haynes first broke into the spotlight over a decade ago, but he still looks back on Teen Wolf as the launchpad that changed his life.

“It’s crazy to think Teen Wolf was 16 years ago,” Haynes shared. “We even recently did the movie. It’s the show that never dies.”

Now, Haynes is ready to step behind the camera—and maybe into a producing or creative lead role—hoping to shape a series that reflects the vibrancy of the LGBTQ+ community. While CSI: West Hollywood is still just an idea, it taps into a broader movement of queer creatives reclaiming space in crime procedurals, thrillers, and genre TV that has long lacked LGBTQ+ representation.

Crime Drama, but Make It Queer

The idea of a show like CSI: West Hollywood resonates because it blends familiar television tropes with fresh representation. With crime dramas like Law & Order and CSI dominating airwaves for decades, there’s room—and growing demand—for a reinvention that reflects modern queer life.

“People want to see themselves on screen,” Haynes said. “Why not have queer detectives with backstories, relationships, heartbreak, and humor—just like everyone else?”

Haynes’ concept comes at a time when LGBTQ+ representation in media is being reexamined. Despite progress, queer characters—especially in crime and procedural dramas—often remain sidelined or tokenized. A show led by a predominantly queer cast in a campy, dramatic, and genuinely entertaining setting like West Hollywood could be the cultural reset television needs.

    Fond Memories and Future Dreams

Haynes also spoke warmly about his previous roles, including his time on American Horror Story, where he formed close friendships and memorable on-set experiences.

“Working with Ryan Murphy was a dream,” he said. “It felt like an instant family. We even went on vacation together—saw Cher in Vegas. It was special.”

That sense of community is something Haynes wants to recreate in his future projects. Whether acting, producing, or both, his vision for the future of queer television includes collaborative, joyful environments—and projects that push boundaries while making viewers feel seen.

    What’s Next for Colton Haynes?

While CSI: West Hollywood is still in the idea stage, Haynes has made it clear he’s serious about expanding queer narratives in television. He’s not just looking for another acting gig—he’s looking to tell new stories that reflect the community he belongs to.

As fans eagerly await his next move, Haynes is embracing a creative renaissance—one fueled by a decade of experience, Hollywood wisdom, and a desire to make TV a little more glittery, a little more inclusive, and a lot more fabulous.

“You never know what’s next,” he said with a smile. “But I’m excited to find out.”

  • Cooper Koch and His Brothers Poke Fun at Brotherly Love from the ‘The White Lotus’

Cooper Koch and His Brothers Poke Fun at Brotherly Love from the ‘The White Lotus’

As The White Lotus wraps up its much-discussed brother-on-brother storyline, Cooper Koch is keeping the flames of sibling drama alive — and this time, he’s bringing his real-life brothers into the fold.

The HBO series season finale may have provided some closure to the intense, homoerotic tension between the Ratliff brothers, Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola). A pivotal moment between the two — where Lochlan lends a hand to Saxon while he’s with Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) — sparked waves of conversation about the portrayal of intimacy between siblings on television. Fans were left both shocked and intrigued, asking the question: Why is there so much emphasis on this theme?

But if you thought the scandalous moment was behind us, think again. Cooper Koch, who starred as one of the Menendez brothers in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on Netflix, decided to have a little fun with the controversial moment.

Though Cooper is not active on social media, his younger brother Walker Koch took to Instagram ahead of The White Lotus finale airing on Sunday, posting a playful photo of Cooper and his twin brother Payton. The image shows Payton leaning in for a kiss with Cooper, standing underneath art shaped like Thailand. Walker even tagged The White Lotus in the post, making it clear that this was a cheeky nod to the show’s controversial plot.

The Instagram Story, which has since disappeared, was clearly a lighthearted joke. The brothers, who share a close bond, were giving the show a playful “kiss off” in their own way.

The Koch twins’ bond isn’t just a casual one; they share a deep connection, both personally and professionally. While Cooper has risen to fame with his acting career — particularly after his breakthrough role in Monsters — Payton has been making a name for himself in the world of film production. Payton’s work includes editing on acclaimed projects like Only Murders in the Building, which earned him an Emmy nomination, and working with Ryan Murphy on shows like American Horror Story and The Politician. Cooper was even his guest at the Emmys, and with both brothers now in the spotlight, it’s only a matter of time before they return the favor.

While Cooper’s career has earned him recognition, his twin’s path is just as impressive, and their strong family ties are evident. They both grew up in Los Angeles, a stone’s throw from Hollywood, and their shared history is part of their undeniable connection. They’ve even posed together in steamy photo shoots, most recently for Behind The Blinds, a glossy editorial magazine that highlighted the pair’s captivating dynamic.

In their latest playful moment, it’s clear that the Koch family isn’t afraid to have a little fun with the media’s fascination with sibling dynamics. While the Ratliff brothers may have stirred up heated debates, the Koch twins are just enjoying life, their careers, and, of course, making headlines with their playful sense of humor.

Paulson and Bird were joined by supermodel Gigi Hadid, actress Nicole Kidman, and Keith Urban’s daughter Sunday Rose, who at just 16 years old, made her runway debut. Other notable models included The Brutalist actress Raffey Cassidy and BlacKkKlansman star Laura Harrier.

What’s the theme of American Horror Story: NYC?

While FX and Murphy have been tight-lipped about all of the previous seasons of the long-running show, this season seems particularly mysterious. Since FX announced the season’s theme, AHS took to social media to share various images and cryptic messages. Very few details about AHS: NYC has been released over the last few months. However, the show’s social media channels have been very active and perhaps hold clues.

On October 12, the @AmericanHorrorStory Twitter account tweeted a video promising “a season like no other” with a caption that included the phrase “Let it consume you.” This led some fans to speculate that the new season could have a cannibalistic theme.

On October 6, the @RyanMurphyProductions Twitter account shared a teaser for the upcoming seasons with a caption that reads, “The deadliest year. A season like no other.” So, will AHS: NYC be the deadliest season yet? We’re about to find out.

American Horror Story: NYC premieres on October 19 on FX and streaming on Hulu the next day.
