  • Ian McKellen Calls for Famous Queer People to Come Out: ‘Being in The Closet is Silly’

Ian McKellen Calls for Famous Queer People to Come Out: ‘Being in The Closet is Silly’

Sir Ian McKellen, the legendary actor known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings and X-Men, has stirred a debate after encouraging famous queer people to come out of the closet, asserting that there is “no need” for anyone in the public eye to remain closeted. While McKellen’s comments were widely shared, they also sparked some pushback from those who feel the pressure to come out is not as simple as it seems, especially for those still navigating personal or professional challenges related to their sexuality.

The 85-year-old actor made these remarks during an interview with The Times, discussing his role in Christopher Marlowe’s Edward II, a play about a relationship between the English king and his companion Piers Gaveston. McKellen, who first portrayed Gaveston in 1969, reflected on the shifting attitudes toward LGBTQ+ representation in theater, particularly how the play and its queer themes have been interpreted across different generations.

    A Call for Coming Out

McKellen, who has been openly gay since coming out publicly in 1988, has long been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. During his interview, he addressed the personal and professional evolution of coming out in the public eye. He reflected on how earlier generations of actors, such as Sir Alec Guinness, were apprehensive about revealing their sexuality, with Guinness comparing it to “getting involved in politics.” Meanwhile, McKellen’s contemporary Simon Callow had a far more open perspective, dismissing the idea of remaining in the closet altogether.

In the interview, McKellen made a bold statement: “I feel sorry for any famous person who feels they can’t come out. Being in the closet is silly — there’s no need for it.” He explained that in his experience, the societal benefits of being open about one’s sexuality far outweigh the potential consequences, especially for those in the limelight.

“I have never met anybody who came out who regretted it,” McKellen added. “Being in the closet is silly. Don’t listen to your advisers, listen to your heart. Listen to your gay friends who know better. Come out. Get into the sunshine.”

While his sentiments come from decades of personal experience, the quote quickly went viral, sparking a range of responses—some supportive, others critical.

    Mixed Reactions from the Public

Though many people agreed with McKellen’s optimistic message about the freedom and benefits of coming out, others felt his comments missed the nuance of individual struggles and external pressures that still surround the process of coming out. One person responded on social media, saying, “Well, they should come out on their own terms.” Others expressed frustration with what they perceived as a tone-deaf approach, given the current climate of discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ people in many parts of the world.

“You can’t say something like this and also claim gay people are still being discriminated against and disowned,” wrote one commenter. “I know his heart was in the right place but it feels tone-deaf.”

Another user echoed these concerns, noting, “His heart was in the right place, but it’s not easy at all to just come out in general, whether you’re famous or not. A lot of people still struggle with their sexuality.”

While McKellen’s comments were made with the intention of encouraging those in the public eye to embrace their truth, many pointed out that the decision to come out is deeply personal and, in some cases, may not be safe or advisable for everyone. The pressures of fame, the potential for backlash, and the challenges of navigating personal relationships all complicate the process, especially for those who may be in positions where their careers or safety could be at risk.

    A Perspective Shaped by Experience

McKellen, whose acting career spans over six decades, is well aware of the social and professional obstacles that queer people have faced in the entertainment industry. When reflecting on the potential professional consequences of coming out, McKellen pointed to the example of young footballers, suggesting that agents are likely advising players to stay closeted in order to protect their marketability.

“The first Premier League footballer to come out will become the most famous footballer in the world, with all the agencies begging for his name on their products,” McKellen said. He noted that, despite the challenges, coming out is ultimately a positive step, both personally and professionally. He pointed to the cultural shift over time, explaining that the benefits of being an openly queer public figure now far outweigh the risks.

McKellen’s perspective is shaped by the changes he’s witnessed over the years. He has seen how coming out was once considered a career-damaging move, but now, with the rise of LGBTQ+ visibility and support, it’s increasingly seen as a courageous and authentic act that is often met with public admiration and increased opportunities.

Coming Out and the Public Eye

For many in the LGBTQ+ community, the decision to come out is complex. It involves weighing personal safety, mental health, and professional viability, especially in industries where public opinion can heavily influence success. While McKellen’s message is one of empowerment, it’s clear that coming out is still a deeply individual decision, one that should not be rushed or forced.

McKellen’s broader point—that famous queer people should not feel pressured to remain in the closet for the sake of their careers—remains an important one. Yet, it also highlights the stark contrast between the experiences of LGBTQ+ people today and the struggles that previous generations faced. For younger celebrities, McKellen’s words may serve as a reminder of the progress that’s been made, while also offering encouragement to embrace authenticity in a world that is gradually becoming more accepting of queer identities.

  • Emilia Pérez Star Karla Sofía Gascón Apologizes for Past Controversy Amid Oscars Scandal

Emilia Pérez Star Karla Sofía Gascón Apologizes for Past Controversy Amid Oscars Scandal

Karla Sofía Gascón, the star of Emilia Pérez, has issued a heartfelt apology following a wave of controversy during this year’s Oscars season. The actress, who made history as the first openly transgender actor nominated for an Academy Award, found herself at the center of a scandal after past social media posts resurfaced. The posts, which included hateful and bigoted remarks, sparked widespread backlash from the public.

In an exclusive statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Gascón expressed regret over her past actions, discussing the emotional toll the situation has taken on her in recent months. The actress acknowledged the harm caused by her past words and emphasized her commitment to self-improvement and accountability.

“I’ve learned a lot over these past few months,” Gascón said. “I want to take this opportunity to listen, learn, and admit my mistakes, while also seeking forgiveness for the pain I’ve caused others.”

The controversy surrounding Gascón intensified after journalist Sarah Hagi uncovered a series of posts from Gascón’s time on X (formerly Twitter). The posts, written years ago, included derogatory statements targeting Islam and Muslims, as well as comments about immigrants, the Oscars, and the George Floyd protests.

The actress, who had enjoyed a period of success following her Oscar nomination, became the target of public scrutiny. Despite facing intense criticism, Gascón has since acknowledged the damage her comments caused and expressed a desire to make amends.

In her statement, Gascón reflected on her journey and the emotional impact of the controversy. She explained that she had built “a shield” around herself to cope with past struggles, but that this emotional barrier ultimately created additional harm to those around her.

“Shields can be cold and hard on the outside, and they can also hurt those who are close to you,” she said. “While I have been the target of harmful words, I also recognize that I have said hurtful things in the past. These words came from a place of fear, ignorance, and pain, and I deeply regret them.”

Gascón emphasized that there are no excuses for her past behavior and stressed that she was not attempting to justify her actions. “I apologize to anyone I have offended, and I ask for their forgiveness,” she stated. “I am committed to doing better, learning from my mistakes, and ensuring that I do not repeat them in the future.”

Mental health struggles have also played a significant role in Gascón’s personal journey. She revealed that, amid the scandal, she has faced “dark moments” in her life. In her statement, the actress admitted that at times the emotional weight of the situation was so overwhelming that she considered “the unthinkable.”

“There were moments during this painful experience when the pain became so intense that I considered giving up,” Gascón confessed. “I harbored darker thoughts than I had during other difficult times in my life. But through it all, I have managed to hold on to a small piece of sanity, and that has helped me see the light at the end of this tunnel of hate.”

A post shared by Karla Sofía Gascón (@karsiagascon)

Despite the emotional challenges, Gascón is determined to learn from her past and emerge stronger. “I understand now that I must be better and do better,” she said. “It’s important to me to correct the mistakes I’ve made and move forward with a more open heart, free from the darkness that has consumed me.”

The actress has previously issued public apologies, but some of her earlier statements were met with criticism for being defensive. In an interview with CNN en Español, Gascón stated: “I have not committed any crime, nor have I harmed anyone. I am not racist, nor am I anything that people are trying to make others believe about me.” However, in her latest statement, she took a more reflective approach, acknowledging her past mistakes without deflecting blame.

Gascón’s journey to redemption comes at a time when the spotlight is on her as one of the most high-profile LGBTQ+ figures in Hollywood. As a trailblazer in her industry, she has a significant platform to inspire change and dialogue around issues of representation, acceptance, and self-reflection.

In addition to her Hollywood career, Gascón has been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly for transgender rights. Her Oscar nomination marked a major milestone for transgender visibility in the entertainment industry, and many fans and supporters rallied behind her during the controversy.

Despite the turbulence she has faced, Gascón remains determined to use her experiences as an opportunity for growth. “I am deeply grateful for the kindness and understanding I’ve received from so many people during this difficult time,” she said. “As I continue to learn and evolve, I promise to be a better person, not just for myself, but for all those I’ve hurt along the way.”

In a post on her Instagram, Gascón shared the full statement with her followers, providing a summary in Spanish to reach a broader audience. She also included a message of hope, encouraging others to embrace forgiveness and the power of personal growth.

As Gascón moves forward, it remains to be seen how her career and public image will evolve. However, her commitment to change and her willingness to confront her past head-on have garnered support from many, while others continue to call for accountability in the public eye.

  • Jools Lebron Claims Beauty Brand Exploited Her, Reveals She Was Unpaid for Work

Jools Lebron Claims Beauty Brand Exploited Her, Reveals She Was Unpaid for Work

Jools Lebron, the influencer behind one of 2024’s most viral trends, is speaking out about an experience she claims where she wasn’t compensated for her work with a beauty brand.

In the debut episode of her new podcast Very Demure, Lebron, a transgender influencer who popularized the “demure” trend on TikTok, revealed that a well-known beauty brand took advantage of her. The “demure” trend, which emphasizes a “mindful” and “cutesy” approach to life, became so popular that it led to the word being named Dictionary.com‘s Word of the Year for 2024.

Lebron, who gained widespread recognition for her TikToks demonstrating demure behavior in everyday scenarios, such as applying for a job or boarding an airplane, says her viral success enabled her to afford gender-affirming surgery and help a friend with housing. However, she now claims that some companies, including the beauty brand in question, expected her to work for free.

Lebron shared her story of working with the brand and its founder, who had recently faced criticism for allegedly not paying Black and brown creators. The influencer said she was flown to New York for a foundation event without compensation, despite being at the height of her TikTok fame. “At the height of the most viral sensation of TikTok of 2024, you got me to fly to New York, for free, unpaid, to essentially promote your foundation?” Lebron said during the podcast.

While she was initially excited to work with the brand and its founder—whom she considered an idol—Lebron later realized she was not paid, unlike other influencers who were compensated for similar promotions. She explained, “Of course I want to make some TikToks with you… he was making TikToks with all the divas. Because he was paying the other divas, I found out later.”

    View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Jools Lebron (@joolieannie)

Lebron said she didn’t plan to speak out about the experience but felt compelled to after the brand posted a video asking creators who felt they had been underpaid to reach out. This prompted Lebron to reflect on her own treatment. She also mentioned a comment from one of her fans, who tagged the creator in a post celebrating her success, claiming the creator gave her her first brand deal. According to Lebron, that claim wasn’t true, and she questioned the creator’s response: “You love helping the divas, and you didn’t cut me a check?”

While Lebron didn’t explicitly name the beauty brand or its founder, fans have speculated that she may be referring to beauty mogul Patrick Ta, as some commenters have begun tagging him and his brand in relation to the story. However, this remains purely speculative at this point.

The episode has sparked a conversation about compensation for influencers and creators of color, particularly within the beauty industry. Lebron’s experience highlights the growing scrutiny of how brands and creators work with underrepresented talent, especially when it comes to fair payment for their contributions.

As of now, the story is still developing, and it remains unclear whether the beauty brand or its founder will address the claims. For now, Lebron continues to use her platform to shed light on issues of fairness and equity in the influencer industry.

In addition to Kai, Watts and Schreiber have another child, 17-year-old Sasha, who is also beginning a modeling career. Sasha previously voiced one of the young wolves in Disney’s 2016 film The Jungle Book. Both parents have encouraged their children to pursue their passions and have shown unwavering support for their artistic endeavors.

As Kai continues to break barriers in the fashion industry, her debut at Paris Fashion Week stands as a testament to her talent and the unwavering support of her parents, who have been by her side every step of the way.

  • Neil Patrick Harris Joins Cast of Dexter: Resurrection in Guest Starring Role

Neil Patrick Harris Joins Cast of Dexter: Resurrection in Guest Starring Role

Emmy and Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris has been cast in the highly anticipated Showtime series Dexter: Resurrection, which will serve as a follow-up to the 2021 series Dexter: New Blood. Harris will guest star as the character “Lowell,” adding to an already star-studded ensemble.

Production for Dexter: Resurrection began in January in New York City, with the series slated to premiere this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime. The follow-up to Dexter: New Blood marks another chapter in the iconic Dexter franchise, which has captivated audiences with its thrilling portrayal of Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who targets other killers.

    A Star-Studded Cast

Clyde Phillips, who is returning as the showrunner and executive producer, has been assembling a dynamic cast for the series, which will see Michael C. Hall reprise his role as the titular Dexter Morgan. Harris joins a group of familiar faces and new characters who will shape the storyline.

Returning cast members include David Zayas, who will once again portray Detective Angel Batista; Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan; and James Remar as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan. Alongside Harris, several new faces have been added to the cast, including Uma Thurman as Charley, Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, Krysten Ritter as Mia Lapierre, and Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara. Additional new additions include Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, and Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera.

With such a diverse and talented group of actors, Dexter: Resurrection is shaping up to be a thrilling continuation of the beloved series.

A New Chapter in the Dexter Universe

Dexter: Resurrection will follow the events of Dexter: New Blood, which garnered significant attention for bringing the series back after its controversial finale in 2013. In Dexter: New Blood, Dexter Morgan was living under a new identity in a small town in upstate New York. The series explored the consequences of Dexter’s past actions while also delving into his relationship with his son, Harrison, who had grown up without him.

The new series will pick up where Dexter: New Blood left off, but little is known about the exact direction the story will take. However, the addition of notable new characters and the return of familiar faces has fans eagerly anticipating what’s next for the serial killer and his complicated web of relationships.

A Strong Track Record for Dexter

The Dexter franchise has maintained a loyal fanbase for over a decade. The original Dexter series, which ran from 2006 to 2013, followed Dexter Morgan as he balanced his life as a blood-spatter analyst for Miami Metro Police and his dark, vigilante side. The show was praised for its complex characters, morally gray storytelling, and its unique exploration of the antihero archetype.

After the original series concluded, Dexter: New Blood reinvigorated the franchise by providing closure to Dexter’s story and introducing new characters. The series became a massive hit, quickly becoming one of the most streamed original series for Showtime in recent years. The season finale in February drew 2.68 million global viewers, making it the most-watched episode of the season. The success of Dexter: New Blood laid the groundwork for Dexter: Resurrection, which is expected to further explore the character’s complex journey.

In addition to Dexter: Resurrection, the franchise also recently launched Dexter: Original Sin, a prequel series that focuses on a young Dexter Morgan. The first season of Dexter: Original Sin, which premiered in December, follows a younger Dexter as he begins his journey into becoming a serial killer. This series was praised for its fresh take on the Dexter mythos and quickly became the most streamed global original series for Showtime in the past decade.

    Behind the Scenes

Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by Clyde Phillips, who is best known for his work on the original Dexter series, as well as his role as showrunner for Nurse Jackie. Phillips will also return as the showrunner for Dexter: Resurrection, continuing his involvement in the franchise that helped establish its unique voice and tone. Michael C. Hall, who stars as Dexter Morgan, will also serve as an executive producer on the series alongside Phillips. Other executive producers include Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns.

Marcos Siega, who directed episodes of Dexter: New Blood, will serve as the producing director for the new series. Monica Raymund, who appeared in Dexter: Original Sin, is set to direct four episodes, while Siega will direct six episodes.

The series is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios, with distribution handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

As Dexter: Resurrection prepares for its summer premiere, fans are eager to see how the series will evolve, especially with the addition of Neil Patrick Harris and other notable stars. The return of Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, along with the new characters introduced in the show, promises an exciting continuation of the Dexter legacy.

With its gripping storytelling, compelling characters, and a mix of familiar faces and new talent, Dexter: Resurrection is set to be a major hit for Showtime and Paramount+. Fans of the long-running series can expect plenty of twists, drama, and dark thrills as Dexter Morgan’s journey continues.

  • Lady Gaga Celebrates LGBTQ+ Resilience and Her Own Evolution in ‘Mayhem’ Era

Lady Gaga Celebrates LGBTQ+ Resilience and Her Own Evolution in ‘Mayhem’ Era

Lady Gaga has consistently reshaped the pop landscape with each album, from the glitzy rise of The Fame to the emotional depth of Joanne and the sci-fi fantasy of Chromatica. Now, with her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Mayhem, the superstar turns the focus inward, reflecting on the shape of her own stardom and embracing her true artistry.

In an interview with Out, Gaga describes Mayhem as “a lot of gothic dreams,” a theme that has quietly resonated throughout her career. “I’ve realized that’s been a part of my music since early in my career,” she explains, suggesting that the album marks an exploration of her own evolution as both an artist and a person.

At 38, Gaga feels a renewed sense of confidence in her musical journey. “As a pop star, I want to be able to celebrate the parts of myself that I know will carry me forward,” she says, comfortably relaxing under a blanket with sunlight streaming in. She recalls advice from legendary jazz singer Tony Bennett, who urged her to focus on quality. “If the thing that I focus on for the rest of my career is my musicianship, that will be a way for me to move forward, and with confidence,” Gaga reflects.

Throughout her career, Gaga has cemented herself not only as a defining figure of pop culture but also as a multifaceted artist, admired for her musicianship and her willingness to push boundaries. “I’m not sure if people know that I’ve been producing all my albums my whole career. I’ve always been a co-producer and writer on my records. I just feel more comfortable talking about it now,” she reveals. “I’m also really proud of this music. I’m very proud of the production on this album.”

In a world dominated by social media feeds, trending topics, and viral moments, Gaga has long tackled the intersection of fame, artifice, and identity—issues she first delved into with ARTPOP in 2013. Yet, in 2025, as artists and brands navigate an increasingly polarized social landscape, Gaga continues to thrive. At the Grammy Awards, she earned a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with the hauntingly romantic track “Die With a Smile,” which closes out Mayhem. During her acceptance speech, Gaga used the opportunity to speak out on behalf of the trans community, reiterating her commitment to supporting marginalized voices.

That same night, Gaga made another bold statement by releasing her new song “Abracadabra” and its accompanying music video during an ad break in the Grammy telecast. For her queer fans, the excitement was palpable. “It means the absolute world to me,” Gaga says, visibly moved. “I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am, and what it means to be supported by a community that I respect so much. A community that is responsible for so much great art for thousands of years.”

Gaga’s continued support for the LGBTQ+ community is not just an underlying current in her music, but a defining element of her public persona. “It really means a lot,” she adds, “and I hope that I made something that the LGBTQ+ community felt was also indicative of the resilience that I see in queer people all the time.”

Though many would consider the support of allies to be a given, Gaga continues to make her commitment to the queer community front and center in her career. “I just want to say that I love you so much,” she tells Out. “And I thank you for your endless amounts of love, inspiration, and strength. Thank you for teaching the world how to be kind, and to love. And know that I’m going to have the back of the LGBTQ+ community every single day.”

Gaga pauses before continuing: “Actually, I think my message wouldn’t necessarily be to the queer community. It would be to everyone else: You can learn a lot from the queer community about love.”

As she embarks on this new era, Gaga continues to use her platform not only to create art but to advocate for love, inclusion, and strength—values that have always been at the core of her music and public persona. Mayhem is a reflection of her personal and artistic growth, blending the gothic with the glamorous as she shapes the next chapter of her career, staying true to the very parts of herself that have defined her journey.

Michelle Buteau Faces ‘Big Life Decision’ in First Trailer for ‘Survival of the Thickest’ Season 2

Mavis Beaumont’s journey continues to take unexpected turns in the upcoming season of Survival of the Thickest, with the new trailer offering a glimpse into her evolving life and relationships. Played by Michelle Buteau, who co-created the series alongside Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, Buteau returns as the bold, confident, and unapologetically plus-size woman navigating her career, love life, and personal growth.

In Survival of the Thickest season 2 on Netflix, Mavis travels to Rome in an attempt to prove her love for Luca, played by Marouane Zotti. But, as teased in the trailer, things don’t go as planned, and Mavis finds herself back in New York City seeking solace from her two best friends, Khalil (Tone Bell) and Marley (Tasha Smith). Despite her emotional setbacks, Mavis has a light-hearted moment where she announces, “I was a zombie but now I’m back from the dead!” as she embraces a new chapter of her life.

Season 2 focuses on Mavis turning the page on her 30s with confidence, fun, and a few unexpected twists. In a pivotal moment from the trailer, Mavis celebrates turning 39, excited about embracing the upcoming year. “Can I just say, 39 is going to be an amazing year! Why was I so scared of it?” she asks, while also getting a glimpse of Khalil’s curiosity about her desire for motherhood. Tasha Smith’s character, Marley, quickly steps in to defend Mavis, reminding Khalil that her questions about Mavis’ personal life might not be the best for the occasion.

A key theme in Survival of the Thickest season 2 is Mavis’ continued passion for plus-size fashion. As she makes a career pivot to designing clothes for plus-size consumers, Mavis proudly declares, “Thick girls, we ain’t just the moment, we the movement, honey!” In her quest to make high-fashion a reality for larger bodies, Mavis embarks on a business partnership with Marley, who appears to have her own blossoming romance this season. “It’s been a long time since I felt like this,” Marley says before sharing a kiss, signaling a deeper emotional arc for the character.

For Khalil, season 2 will offer a unique opportunity to break down emotional barriers. As he struggles with a creative block, Khalil decides to attend therapy, something not commonly seen for Black men on TV. Tone Bell reflected on the significance of this storyline, telling People, “You don’t really see that often. You get a chance to see him speak to, I would say, multiple groups about it and then not being embarrassed about talking about it. I think that’s really cool.” Bell continued, adding that Khalil’s vulnerability is part of his personal growth, as he encourages Mavis to chase her dreams and gives advice to Marley as she navigates her own relationship challenges.

In the midst of personal growth, Mavis’ friendship with Marley will be tested as the two women enter into a business partnership. Tasha Smith teased some tension between the characters, noting that there would be a “hiccup” in their dynamic. However, as the actress teased, “But they work it out. She’s just that bitch!”

Survival of the Thickest season 2 promises to be a season filled with laughs, heartfelt moments, and an exploration of the complexities of friendship, love, and self-empowerment. Viewers can look forward to more personal and professional growth for Mavis, as well as deeper storylines for Khalil and Marley.

Season 2 of Survival of the Thickest premieres on Netflix on March 27, offering fans the chance to see how Mavis and her friends navigate new chapters in their lives, their careers, and their relationships.

As always, Michelle Buteau’s portrayal of Mavis brings heart, humor, and authenticity to the screen, making this season one fans won’t want to miss.

  • Do We Really Still Think That Dylan Efron Doesn’t Shower After This Playful Speedo Post?

Do We Really Still Think That Dylan Efron Doesn’t Shower After This Playful Speedo Post?

Dylan Efron, the younger brother of actor Zac Efron, has recently stirred up conversation with some surprising comments about personal hygiene — specifically, showering. Known for his laid-back attitude and unorthodox opinions, Dylan took to social media to make an eyebrow-raising statement: “I think people shower too much. We take way too many showers… We don’t need to soap our bodies every time we’re in the shower, either. That’s way too much!”

At first, many fans may have questioned whether Dylan was just making a lighthearted remark, but the actor and reality star didn’t stop there. To emphasize his point and back up his words, Dylan decided to showcase his philosophy in true Efron fashion. He posted an Instagram Story showing him standing under a stream of water while wearing nothing but a speedo. The shot quickly went viral, leaving many fans amused and others curious about his shower habits.

Dylan’s decision to strip down to a speedo and show the world how a shower should be done certainly added an aesthetic appeal to his point. The combination of his carefree attitude and eye-catching demonstration had fans applauding his confidence — not to mention the added bonus of some unexpected eye candy. While his comments about showering might have seemed strange to some, his playful approach to the topic has certainly made an impact.

This moment wasn’t just about making a splash on social media. It was about challenging traditional norms surrounding cleanliness and self-care. While many people are accustomed to daily showers, often using soap for an extensive cleanse, Dylan’s unconventional stance encourages people to rethink how often and how thoroughly they wash.

Dylan’s fans were quick to respond, with some supporting his less-is-more approach and others laughing along with the humor of his delivery. As for the Speedo-clad shower demonstration, it appears that Dylan is not just trying to make a statement about personal hygiene, but also about self-expression and body confidence. Whether you agree with his take on soap or not, there’s no denying that Dylan’s charismatic personality and willingness to break the mold make him a standout figure.

Regardless of whether his shower philosophy gains widespread approval, it’s clear that Dylan has captured attention. The upcoming finale of The Traitors on Peacock is sure to further elevate his profile, but for now, he’s winning fans over with a mix of charm, humor, and a well-timed speedo shower.

Having been part of the Venice family for several seasons, Zarian feels a deep sense of gratitude for the series’ loyal fanbase. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of the show, and for Zarian, it’s a feeling of coming back to something special.

“The fans of Venice: The Series are incredible. They’ve waited so patiently for us to return, showing such loyalty,” Zarian says. “It’s a love story about life and everything that unfolds when you love someone. It’s something everyone can relate to, and that’s what makes it so unique.”

As Nate, Zarian’s character has continued to evolve over the seasons, and Season 7 is no exception. “As for what fans can expect from Nate… he’s still that sweet, charismatic, slightly nerdy guy, but he’s grown. He’s ready to take more control of his life and step into a new chapter,” Zarian explains.

Nate’s Growth and the Return of Familiar Faces

This season of Venice not only brings back many beloved characters, but it also introduces new faces that inject fresh energy into the show. Zarian notes that fans have been very vocal about who they want to see more of, which has only made the show’s cast and crew even more invested in delivering what fans crave.

“We have incredibly loyal fans who’ve shared with us who they’d love to see again and who they’d like to see more of,” he says. “The addition of new characters always brings a fresh energy to the show. For Nate, his character evolves by finding his voice and speaking up for himself more.”

The Heartwarming Chemistry Between Nate and Jamie

One of the standout relationships on the show is the bond between Nate and Jamie, played by Harrison Killian-White. Zarian describes his connection with Killian-White as something very special, both professionally and personally.

“Harrison, oh, how I adore him,” Zarian shares. “We hadn’t met before this season, but from the moment he said ‘hello,’ he won me over. Truly, one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. As an actor, he’s incredibly generous, and we really hit it off.”

Zarian describes the chemistry between their characters as “undeniable,” and the relationship between Nate and Jamie evolves in Season 7, with fans eagerly wondering whether their bond will develop into something more than just friendship.

“Our chemistry is undeniable, whether as friends or something more,” Zarian says. “We were fearless together, saying ‘YES’ to everything. I love him.”

    The Complexities of Nate’s Storyline

Throughout the series, Nate has navigated heavy emotional themes, including his desire to have a family and confront the fears tied to his past. Zarian explains how he prepares for such complex roles, involving vulnerability and hope, by tapping into the magic of the “IF” — imagining how he would react if he were in Nate’s shoes.

“I close my eyes and free fall. As an actor, I believe in the magical ‘IF’ — if this were happening to me, and I take it from there,” Zarian says. “Nate was bullied and emotionally tortured, and other than his twin, Nick, he doesn’t trust easily. He’s cautious until he knows there is safety. That vulnerability is a huge part of who Nate is.”

    Playing Two Distinct Characters

Zarian has had the unique challenge of playing both Nate and his twin brother, Nick, a role he took on in earlier seasons. Despite the shared history between the two characters, Zarian approaches each role by focusing on the subtle differences that make them distinct individuals.

“I’m an identical twin in real life, with my twin brother Lawrence,” Zarian explains. “I realized that while we are so much alike, we’re also very different. That’s how I approached these characters. Nate is a bit more insecure than Nick. He’s also a lot more carefree in other aspects, which mirrors the dynamic between Lawrence and myself.”

    Representing LGBTQ+ Love and Relationships

Venice: The Series has been praised for its authentic and sensitive portrayal of LGBTQ+ love and relationships. Zarian, who has long been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, speaks to the importance of representation in media and what it means to be a part of a series that champions these stories.

“Love is love. Period,” Zarian says, firmly. “There’s so much talk about who we should love, but the truth is, it’s nobody’s business but our own. Just love who you love. Be kind, be open, and be willing to celebrate our differences.”

Zarian continues, “I’m beyond proud to be a part of this beautiful love story. I hope our show inspires people to realize that, at the end of the day, we all just want to love one another, share with each other, grow, learn, and become better versions of ourselves.”

    An Emmy-Nominated Performance

In 2020, Zarian was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for his performance as Nate, a recognition that has had a profound impact on his career. Reflecting on this milestone, Zarian acknowledges the honor of being nominated for such a prestigious award.

“Receiving a Daytime Emmy nomination for Venice: The Series as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama for my role as Nate is one of the proudest moments of my career,” he shares. “It allowed me to become an advocate for free2luv.org, an anti-bullying organization, which celebrates individuality, self-acceptance, and love.”

    Advocacy Beyond the Screen

Zarian is also deeply involved in advocacy work for anti-bullying and LGBTQ+ rights, supporting organizations like The Trevor Project and Free2Luv. His passion for these causes is evident in his work, both on and off-screen.

“Many people who try to get sober don’t make it. Less than one-third of those who attempt to stay sober succeed,” Zarian says, sharing his personal journey with sobriety, which spans over 19 years. “I wouldn’t be here if I weren’t sober. My sobriety influences my work, both on and off the screen, by being of service to others. I believe that we are at our most humble when we’re helping those around us.”

Zarian has also used his platform to speak out against cyberbullying and share messages of self-acceptance, especially for those who are struggling with their identity or sexuality. His personal commitment to helping others is deeply intertwined with his career choices and his advocacy work.

    Looking to the Future

As for what’s next, Zarian has a busy year ahead, with a guest-starring role on ABC’s The Rookie and two upcoming films, Martinez, Margaritas, and Murder and Here We Are. He also expresses excitement about the potential for future roles that challenge him as an actor.

“I would love to do a story arc on Grey’s Anatomy! That would be amazing,” Zarian says. “I’m also eager to work with Lindsay Wagner, The Bionic Woman. She was my crush when I was a teenager!”

Zarian’s commitment to his craft and his advocacy work ensures that his influence extends far beyond the screen. His dedication to telling authentic, meaningful stories about love, self-acceptance, and overcoming adversity makes him a standout figure in both the entertainment industry and the larger conversation surrounding LGBTQ+ rights.

As Venice: The Series continues to evolve, Zarian’s portrayal of Nate remains a cornerstone of the show, capturing the hearts of viewers and providing an inspiring example of what it means to embrace love in all its forms.
