Exclusive: LP Giobbi and Sofi of Sofi Tukker to Headline Historic Pier Dance at The Wharf Following WorldPride Music Festival with ALTÉGO and More

WorldPride Music Festival is turning up the volume in the nation’s capital with an unforgettable day-after celebration: Pier Dance at The Wharf.

Taking place Sunday, June 8, from 2 to 10 p.m., this official day-after event promises a high-energy Pride Tea Dance featuring some of the most groundbreaking LGBTQ+ artists in electronic music.

Set against the picturesque Southwest D.C. waterfront with sweeping views of the Washington Monument, this one-of-a-kind event is shaping up to be one of the most memorable Pride moments of the year. At the heart of the celebration is a first-ever back-to-back (B2B) DJ set from two powerhouse women in dance music: LP Giobbi and Sofi, one half of the GRAMMY-nominated duo Sofi Tukker.

A Groundbreaking B2B Set from Icons of Inclusivity

Both LP Giobbi and Sofi are known not only for their genre-blending sound and high-octane live performances but also for their fierce commitment to inclusivity, queer empowerment, and representation in music.

Sofi, who forms one half of the globally recognized electronic act Sofi Tukker, has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages and amassed a massive global following with hits like “Drinkee,” “Purple Hat,” and “Best Friend.” With an unmistakable presence and unapologetically queer perspective, Sofi has become a symbol of freedom and visibility within the dance music community.

LP Giobbi, widely celebrated as “the piano house queen,” brings her own distinct energy to the decks. As a DJ, producer, and the founder of Femme House—a nonprofit working to create equitable opportunities for women and LGBTQ+ artists in music—Giobbi has been a trailblazer both on and off the stage. Her mission to diversify the dance floor and studio has earned her accolades across the industry.

Viral Sensations ALTÉGO Join the Lineup

Their mashups of nostalgic pop anthems have generated millions of views and made waves in the electronic music scene.

Most notably, the duo’s edit of Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and “Judas” was recently featured during Gaga’s headline set at Coachella, catapulting ALTÉGO further into the spotlight. Their bold remixes and on-stage chemistry have made them instant fan favorites within the LGBTQ+ music community.

Whether they’re reimagining hits from Britney Spears and Nelly Furtado, or turning viral moments into club anthems, ALTÉGO bring an infectious, dancefloor-ready vibe that’s sure to have The Wharf pulsing with energy.

More Than Music—A Celebration of Queer Joy

Pier Dance at The Wharf also features celebrated local and national DJs Matt Suave and Ryan McClure, known for curating inclusive dance experiences that are equal parts euphoric and emotional.

From 2 to 10 p.m., the event will transform 760 Maine Ave SW into a queer waterfront paradise, complete with open-air stages, stunning visuals, and a crowd ready to revel in love, music, and unity.

  • SIDEPIECE to Headline First-Ever Pride Performance at TRÈS CHIC WorldPride Tea Dance in D.C.

SIDEPIECE to Headline First-Ever Pride Performance at TRÈS CHIC WorldPride Tea Dance in D.C.

This June, the global Pride stage is getting a dose of high-energy house music with a superstar twist. Grammy-nominated DJ duo SIDEPIECE will headline their first-ever Pride performance at the TRÈS CHIC WorldPride Tea Dance, one of the most anticipated daytime events of WorldPride DC 2025.

Set for Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the iconic Hook Hall, the TRÈS CHIC tea dance promises a sound-saturated celebration that merges music, queerness, and pure daytime euphoria in one of D.C.’s most vibrant venues.

The event is produced by TRIOLOCO, a boundary-pushing event collective known for curating cutting-edge house music parties that fuse fierce energy with inclusive vibes. Alongside SIDEPIECE, the lineup will feature dynamic sets by DJs Beau Cruz and Michael Navarro, setting the stage for a Pride weekend that’s equal parts beat drop and self-expression.

    Global Stars Meet Global Pride

SIDEPIECE — the powerhouse pairing of Party Favor and Nitti Gritti — are no strangers to massive crowds and thumping stages. Known for their breakout hit “On My Mind,” the duo has dominated charts, racked up over 500 million streams, and shared credits with everyone from Diplo to Bad Bunny to A$AP Ferg.

But despite their global festival appearances and sold-out club shows, this marks the first time SIDEPIECE will perform at a Pride event.

SIDEPIECE will headline the TRÈS CHIC World Pride Tea Dance
SIDEPIECE will headline the TRÈS CHIC World Pride Tea Dance

“We’ve played some of the wildest stages in the world, but nothing excites us more than getting to headline our first-ever Pride celebration,” SIDEPIECE shared in a statement. “The energy, the love, the unity — that’s exactly what dance music is about. We’re ready to bring that to D.C.”

Their debut Pride set is expected to lean into their signature blend of sexy, high-octane tech house — a sound that’s already won them a fiercely loyal queer fanbase.

A Daytime Party With a Message

More than just a party, TRÈS CHIC is part of WorldPride DC 2025’s official lineup — making it one of the key events during a week that will draw LGBTQ+ visitors from around the globe. With Hook Hall transformed into a technicolor playground of sound, dance, and dazzling visuals, the tea dance is designed as a daytime oasis for revelers of all identities.

“TRIOLOCO was built on the belief that house music makes the world go round,” said Michael Navarro, DJ and co-founder of TRIOLOCO. “We want to redefine the party experience by producing events that are fresh, immersive, and inclusive — where house music can take center stage and all identities can dance freely, celebrate together, and thrive in unity.”

Navarro, who also takes the stage as one of the event’s featured DJs, joins fellow TRIOLOCO co-founders Wade Smith and Matthew Knouse in orchestrating the experience. Together, the trio has become a rising force in LGBTQ+ nightlife, known for creating bold events that blend artistry with advocacy.

    High-Impact Sound Meets Inclusive Space

TRÈS CHIC isn’t just turning up the volume — it’s creating space. Designed for everyone from underground music lovers to high-heeled house heads, the event promises a curated experience with immersive soundscapes, runway-ready outfits, and VIP areas that elevate the standard Pride party into something far more intentional.

DJ Beau Cruz, a fast-rising name in the house scene, will bring his signature blend of tribal and tech sounds to the dance floor. Cruz has built a reputation for uniting crowds across borders with sets that sizzle with global energy and queer joy. Navarro’s own performance will round out the lineup, bringing a dynamic edge to the decks with a mix that honors both classic house and modern grooves.

Expect a packed dance floor, mind-melting visuals, and performances that blend camp with couture — all in a space that centers queer joy and celebration.

WorldPride Comes to the Nation’s Capital

Washington, D.C. is set to make history as the first U.S. city to host WorldPride since New York in 2019. This year’s celebration promises to be the largest-ever Pride gathering in the nation’s capital, with events taking place across the city from June 1–9, 2025.

As an official WorldPride partner event, TRÈS CHIC aligns with the global spirit of the celebration — which promotes LGBTQ+ rights, inclusion, and equality on a worldwide stage. For many, it’s more than a party — it’s a statement.

“We wanted to create something bold, joyful, and above all, chic,” said TRIOLOCO’s Wade Smith. “WorldPride is about unity. It’s about coming together and showing up — not just for yourself, but for each other. TRÈS CHIC is our love letter to that.”

  • Kesha Surprises Fans with Performance at The Abbey in West Hollywood for New Single ‘Boy Crazy’

Kesha Surprises Fans with Performance at The Abbey in West Hollywood for New Single ‘Boy Crazy’

Kesha delivered an unforgettable surprise Thursday night when she made a dramatic, unannounced appearance at The Abbey in West Hollywood to celebrate the release of her latest single, “Boy Crazy.”

Fans were stunned as the pop star arrived at the iconic gay bar riding shotgun in none other than Angelyne the Billboard Queen’s signature pink Corvette. The moment quickly became the stuff of nightlife legend, blending two cultural icons in one electric entrance at 692 N. Robertson Blvd.

Draped in a pink veil and wearing oversized sunglasses reminiscent of Angelyne’s trademark look, Kesha stepped out of the car and into a frenzy of cheers. Greeted by a crowd of fans and models from Mistr, an LGBTQ+ health brand, the singer soaked up the adoration as the bar erupted in excitement.

Photos captured by nightlife photographer Rob Flo (@therobflo on Instagram) show Kesha reveling in the celebration, dancing alongside go-go dancers and Mistr ambassadors, fully embracing the energy of the night. Videos shared widely on social media show the singer performing her new single to a packed, ecstatic crowd.

“Boy Crazy” officially dropped Thursday, marking another bold chapter in Kesha’s evolving musical journey. The hyperpop-infused track blends robotic vocal effects with her signature irreverent style. Laced with cheeky, provocative lyrics about her love for men, the song includes lines like “You’re my cocaine” and declarations of being “boy crazy.” It’s an anthem tailor-made for The Abbey, a venue that celebrates queerness, freedom, and of course, boy craziness.

The single’s artwork is as provocative as the song itself—featuring a surreal, chaotic image of Kesha being choked while a cigarette and a phone are held to her face. It’s an arresting visual that complements the track’s raw, uninhibited message. Kesha originally teased the song via Vault.fm, where she encouraged fans to “GO CRAZY” ahead of the full release.

The release of “Boy Crazy” follows Kesha’s recent collaboration with T-Pain on “Yippe-Ki-Yay” and continues the momentum for her upcoming studio album titled Period (.). The album also features the previously released singles “Joyride” and “Delusional.” Fans won’t have to wait long to see Kesha bring these songs to life on stage—she’s gearing up for her headlining “Tits Out” arena tour in support of the album.

Thursday night’s appearance adds to Kesha’s growing history with the West Hollywood queer community. This past June, she headlined the OUTLOUD Music Festival during WeHo Pride, delivering a show-stopping performance that drew praise from fans and critics alike. Later that evening, she was seen partying at Beaches Tropicana with pop icon Adam Lambert.

Kesha’s Halloween appearance in 2024 also solidified her deep connection to the local LGBTQ+ scene. She made a surprise cameo at “Night of 1000 KESHAs,” a one-night-only drag extravaganza hosted at Beaches Tropicana. The event, held on October 24, featured jaw-dropping performances by drag stars Scarlett Bobo, Cece Cantell, Kyra Jete, Jada Slayy, Joella, and Tasha Tektite—all paying homage to Kesha with their own fierce interpretations of her style and music.

The singer’s continued visibility and support within LGBTQ+ spaces have only strengthened her status as a beloved queer icon. Known for her outspoken advocacy and empowering anthems, Kesha has long been a favorite among LGBTQ+ audiences. Her music frequently challenges gender norms, celebrates sexuality, and invites listeners to embrace their full, authentic selves—qualities that make her a natural fit for West Hollywood’s vibrant nightlife.

“Boy Crazy” is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. The single is part of a larger creative renaissance for Kesha, who continues to evolve musically while staying true to the themes of rebellion, liberation, and self-expression that first made her a star.

With each surprise appearance and daring new release, Kesha reminds fans that she’s not just back—she’s bolder than ever. If last night’s performance at The Abbey is any indication, the Period (.) era is shaping up to be her most audacious yet.

By providing a platform for drag artists, EDC not only entertains but also educates and fosters a sense of community among its attendees.

Queen Bar’s lineup, featuring artists like Jade Jolie, Rock M. Sakura, and Leilani Ross, further enriched the festival’s cultural tapestry. These performances offered a space for attendees to connect with the art of drag in a setting that was both inclusive and celebratory.

  • Masha Mar Reflects on Her EDC Debut, Queer Community Love, and Her Dream Remix Diva

Masha Mar Reflects on Her EDC Debut, Queer Community Love, and Her Dream Remix Diva

There’s something electric about watching a DJ return to a festival that helped shape their musical journey. For Serbian-born, LA-based DJ and producer Masha Mar, taking over EDC’s neonGARDEN stage wasn’t just another gig — it was a homecoming.

“I came to EDC for the first time in 2007 as a teenager,” Mar said, glowing with post-set adrenaline. “I wasn’t a DJ yet, but I was inspired. So to come back, years later, and open one of the festival’s most iconic stages? It feels incredible.”

And if you know Masha, you know she doesn’t just show up — she delivers.

    Masha Mar. Photo: Insomniac
    Masha Mar. Photo: Insomniac

    From Underground to Main Stage

Masha’s set at EDC Las Vegas 2025 marked a new chapter in a career that’s thrived on three interconnected forces: DJing, radio, and event curation. Her style spans festivals and dance floors alike, gripping crowds with an eclectic sound that’s as punchy as it is authentic.

Following the release of her debut EP Virgil’s Dream in 2022, and a string of buzzy singles with SOS Music, Femme House, and Dusk Recordings, Masha’s been steadily shaping her sonic world — one that dances between the underground and the open-air.

And she’s not just behind the decks. As the co-founder of Dig Deeper LA and co-creator of the queer and femme-forward open-air series Take It Outside, Masha has welcomed legends like DJ Harvey, Honey Dijon, and Gerd Janson to her stages — all while making space for the next generation of dance floor disruptors.

A Queer Celebration Under the Electric Sky

As her EDC set blasted into the night, Masha found herself lifted by a sea of euphoric energy — especially from the queer fans in the audience.

“Literally all the queer people in the audience fed me,” she said. “I was playing for them. I’m so grateful for this community.”

That gratitude isn’t performative. Her Take It Outside parties with Heidi Lawden prioritize femme and queer inclusion, reinforcing her commitment to making nightlife a space for everyone. It’s exactly the kind of ethos EDC celebrates with its “All Are Welcome Here” mantra — a rainbow-lit rave where love, art, and unity take center stage.

Crowd Energy, Pizza Breaks, and Totem Goals

EDC’s multi-sensory overload — from fireworks to LED creatures to carnival rides — offered a dreamlike setting for Mar’s set.

“It’s a total energy exchange,” she said. “I had prepped a lot, but once I felt the crowd, I shifted things. More bangers, more hands-in-the-air moments — hey, we’re at EDC!”

Post-set, she grabbed some pizza and regrouped before diving back into the chaos of roaming circus characters and impromptu dance parties.

And when asked what kind of totem she’d bring into the crowd if the tables were turned? “Maybe something Brat-related,” she laughed. “A little ‘bumpin’ dat’ moment.”

    A Madonna Moment, Of Course

Masha also confessed to a diva she just can’t resist remixing.

“I opened with a track I made that’s all drums and Madonna’s ‘Music’ acapella,” she said, grinning. “So yeah, Madonna.”

A perfect match for the festival’s neon dreamscape — and a reminder that in the middle of it all, the queer community’s pulse is what keeps EDC dancing.

‘All Stars’ Kerri Colby Joins Forces with BUNKER DC and Whitman-Walker to Support LGBTQ+ Healthcare

In a dazzling collision of nightlife and advocacy, RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Kerri Colby is teaming up with D.C.’s premier LGBTQ+ nightclub BUNKER and community health leader Whitman-Walker Health to raise critical funds for inclusive, affirming healthcare in the nation’s capital. The month-long fundraiser kicks off May 1 and culminates in CLUB KERRI, a can’t-miss night of performance and purpose on Friday, May 23.

CLUB KERRI: A Night of Drag, Dance, and Impact

The spotlight event of the campaign, CLUB KERRI, promises more than just fierce looks and electric beats. Hosted at BUNKER (2001 14th Street NW), the night will feature local drag favorite Cake Pop and Colby herself — fresh off her All Stars season — hitting the stage. Doors open at 10 p.m., and general admission is $20, with 50% of ticket sales going directly to Whitman-Walker Health. Colby will also donate proceeds from a special edition T-shirt to the cause.

“This is about turning a night out into something life-changing,” Colby said in a statement. “Healthcare is a right — not a luxury — and this community knows how to fight for what matters.”

BUNKER’s Mission Beyond the Dance Floor

Since opening in 2022, BUNKER has redefined what a nightclub can be: an inclusive, high-energy space that celebrates queerness in all its forms while actively giving back. Owner Zach Renovates emphasized the venue’s commitment to the community.

“BUNKER was built to be more than a nightclub — it’s a space where our community can feel safe, celebrated, and supported,” he said. “Partnering with Whitman-Walker and collaborating with someone as iconic as Kerri Colby is our way of giving back to the city that gives us so much.”

BUNKER has previously collaborated with LGBTQ+ organizations like Capital Pride Alliance, Latinx History Project, and SMYAL, proving that advocacy can go hand-in-hand with a good beat drop.

    Why This Fundraiser Matters

Whitman-Walker Health, a D.C. nonprofit serving the LGBTQ+ and HIV-affected community since 1973, is facing a 40% reduction in federal research funding. That loss threatens programs that provide gender-affirming care, HIV prevention, mental health services, and other critical resources.

“These budget cuts couldn’t come at a worse time,” said Ted Miller, interim executive director of the Whitman-Walker Foundation. “LGBTQ+ people — especially Black trans women and LGBTQ+ women of color — already face major barriers to care. This fundraiser is a lifeline.”

Donations can be made directly through Whitman-Walker’s online portal throughout May.

    A Celebration With Purpose

Beyond its neon lights and club bangers, CLUB KERRI represents a broader truth: when the LGBTQ+ community comes together, change happens. With music, movement, and meaningful action, Colby, BUNKER, and Whitman-Walker are proving that nightlife and advocacy can be a powerful pair.

LGBTQ+ Night Market Returns to Los Angeles, Honoring KATSEYE’s Lara Raj

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is set to host the second annual Golden Hour: A Queer AANHPI Night Market on Saturday, May 17, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, located at 1125 N. McCadden Place in Hollywood. The event, presented by Gilead Sciences and organized in partnership with Mayumi Market, celebrates Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month by spotlighting queer AANHPI artists, performers, and local businesses.

This year’s Golden Hour will honor Lara Raj, a trailblazing member of the global girl group KATSEYE and a rising queer icon. Raj, who is of Indian descent and hails from New York City, has garnered international attention for her bold artistry and unapologetic authenticity. As a member of KATSEYE, Raj is part of a diverse group of young women from various cultural backgrounds, including Daniela (Cuban/Venezuelan-American), Manon (Ghanaian-Italian), Megan (Chinese-American), Sophia (Filipino), and Yoonchae (Korean). The group has been recognized by VEVO DSCVR and TIDAL as artists to watch in 2025.

In a statement, Raj expressed her gratitude for the recognition: “I’m deeply honored to be recognized by the Los Angeles LGBT Center. As a queer South Asian-American artist, being part of Golden Hour feels like a vibrant celebration of who we are: bold, brilliant, unapologetically cool, and beautifully multifaceted. This night isn’t just about being seen—it’s about joy, pride, and fully claiming our space. I’m incredibly proud to stand in the light with a community that continues to shine, even when the world tries to dim us. Brown girls to the front, forever. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Golden Hour transforms The Village at Ed Gould Plaza into a vibrant, open-air night market curated by and for queer AANHPI communities. Attendees can expect a variety of activities and attractions, including:

    • Queer AANHPI Food and Retail Vendors: A diverse array of food stalls and retail booths showcasing AANHPI-owned businesses and artisans.
