Andrew Garfield Wants to Impersonate This Legend for Snatch Game

Andrew Garfield is ready to play this acting legend!

At the Oscar’s red carpet, Laverne Cox had a heartwarming catch-up with her tick, tick… Boom! costar Andrew Garfield. The 38-year-old was nominated for best actor for his portrayal of the famous composer and playwright Jonathan Larson.

Cox did not come to play and asked Garfield a question we all didn’t know we needed the answer to, until now. “If you could be on RuPaul’s Drag Race Snatch Game, what celebrity impersonation would you do?”

Garfield has long expressed his love for the reality competition series and even served as a guest judge on the first episode of Drag Race UK in 2019.

The actor’s deep appreciation for the show likely contributed to his struggle as he fought to come up with a quick answer to Cox’s question. Who would he impersonate?

“You’re putting me on the spot!” he joked. “Yes I am,” Cox replied without missing a beat.

As Garfield racked his brain for an answer, Cox and everyone watching tried to guess what he would say next. Maybe he would fall back on his impersonation of Justin Timberlake from an SNL skit he did years ago? Or maybe one of his costars from Spider-Man: No Way Home?

Who Would Andrew Garfield Impersonate?

Nope! His answer was better.

“Meryl?” he answered in the form of a question.

“Meryl Streep. I love it,” Cox said.

“Why not, let’s give it a try,” said Garfield. “She’s hilarious, that’s what matters.”

The idea of Garfield playing Streep sounds too good to be true! What would be even better would be a musical starring both Garfield and Streep now that Garfield has made his musical debut with tick, tick… Boom!

Many revered him for his powerful performance and singing in the autobiographical musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Hopefully, at least one of these fantasies will become a reality. We’d love to see Garfield dust off those vocal cords with a rendition of “The Winner Takes it All” from Mamma Mia or “Stay With Me” from Into the Woods.

Who would you want to see Garfield impersonate?
