Connor Storrie as a supervillain? Yes, please.

The Heated Rivalry star is in talks to play opposite Ryan Gosling in Marvel’s upcoming Ghost Rider movie, according to Variety. If a deal comes together, Storrie would face off against Gosling, who is set to star as the flame-headed Marvel character. The casting is unconfirmed, and details about the villain Storrie could play remain under wraps.

Connor Storrie Has Wanted to Play a Supervillain

For fans who have followed Storrie’s rise, a Marvel villain role might sound familiar.

In a December 2025 interview with Variety, the actor said he’s interested in playing a comic book baddie.

“I want to be a supervillain, a new supervillain,” he said, pointing to Christian Bale’s transformation into Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder as an example of the role he had in mind.

There’s no word yet on whether the Ghost Rider character would involve that level of transformation. But if the casting goes through, Storrie could get his chance to cause some trouble in the Marvel universe.

What We Know About ‘Ghost Rider’

Marvel announced Gosling’s involvement in Ghost Rider during its San Diego Comic-Con presentation, where he joined director Shawn Levy onstage.

Levy is directing the film from a script by Jonathan Tropper. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 28, 2028, with filming set to begin in New York next year.

Ghost Rider has appeared in different forms across Marvel comics and adaptations, but the character is best known for a striking look: a flaming skull and a matching motorcycle. For now, fans will have to wait for more details about Gosling’s take and who might be standing in his way.

What’s Next for Connor Storrie?

Before he potentially faces off against Ghost Rider, Storrie will return to the ice as Ilya Rozanov in Heated Rivalry. The hit hockey romance follows Ilya and his rival Shane Hollander, played by Hudson Williams, as their competition gives way to a secret relationship that proves a lot harder to keep off the scoreboard in their personal lives.

Season 2 is currently filming and is expected to premiere on HBO Max in spring 2027. With Ilya and Shane’s love story continuing, plus new cast members including Justice Smith, Charlie Gillespie and Edvin Ryding joining the lineup, fans have plenty to look forward to when the players return to the rink.

Storrie will also appear opposite Billie Eilish in The Bell Jar, director Sarah Polley’s adaptation for Focus Features.
