Jay Hawkridge’s life took a dramatic turn when he contracted HIV as a result of a one-night stand. Devastatingly, Jay believes that the person who transmitted the virus to him did so intentionally.

In England, intentionally transmitting HIV to another person is deemed a criminal offense known as “Reckless Transmission.” Under this legal framework, the act of purposefully passing on HIV is considered a serious violation. Despite the immense challenges he has faced, Jay has emerged as a resilient advocate for safe sexual practices, tirelessly working to raise awareness about HIV prevention.

He is passionate about promoting the use of condoms, advocating for the importance of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and highlighting the significance of medication adherence.
