New ‘Harry Potter’ Series Adaptation Coming to HBO Max

A new Harry Potter series is coming to HBO Max and Discovery+’s new streaming service.

Harry Potter is going back to Hogwarts!

HBO Max and Discovery+ announced their new scripted series during a press presentation on April 12. The streaming services also announced their new combined platform, titled Max.

According to Variety, the series will stay true to the books. Each season will dive into one of the classic books and follow Harry Potter’s journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It will feature an entirely new cast and will have J.K. Rowling on the team as executive producer.

“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,” said chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content Casey Bloys. “Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”
