“Happy Birthday to my husband! When we first met, these were the first 3 thirst trap photos you sent me. They worked. The first one made me melt, the second one made me see my future wedding, and the third made me want to, um…cuddle?”
Bennett added, “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me and your heart is even bigger than your birthday cakes, and those are pretty darn big. I love you forever, thank you for being you and I’m so excited I get to do life with you.”
Vaughan, who turned 40, responded playfully with a simple comment: “Worked, didn’t it?”
The Start of a Beautiful Love Story
Bennett, best known for his role in the 2004 movie Mean Girls, has appeared in numerous other films and hosted TV shows like Cake Wars. Recently, he starred in The Holiday Sitter, the first Hallmark holiday movie featuring a gay couple.
In a 2021 interview with The Knot magazine, Bennett recounted meeting Vaughan in 2016 while filming a Celebrity Page segment promoting the Food Network reality show, Halloween Wars. The moment he saw Vaughan at The Grove outdoor mall in Los Angeles, Bennett was smitten.
Their mutual attraction was instant, and the interview turned into a disaster as the two men fell in love on camera. Despite advice to wait three days before calling Vaughan, Bennett couldn’t resist and called him the moment he got home. The couple has been inseparable ever since, tying the knot in March 2022 in Mexico.
More Than Just a Hollywood Couple
In addition to their on-screen work, Bennett and Vaughan co-founded OUTbound, an LGBTQ+ cruise company that collaborates with local LGBTQ+ tour operators worldwide to create customized cruise itineraries for clients. The couple also served as celebrity Grand Marshals at Miami Beach Pride last weekend.
