New ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ Poster Teases a Heartwarming Queer Love Story

Prime Video has unveiled a new poster for the upcoming Red, White & Royal Blue film adaptation, slated to hit theaters this summer.

Love who you want. It’s good foreign policy.

Based on the best-selling novel by Casey McQuiston, Red, White & Royal Blue tells a love story between two star-crossed lovers: Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the President of the United States, and Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine).

According to the official synopsis, the two have a lot in common: “Stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity … and a total disdain for each other. Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged “truce.” But as Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship, the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.”

Galitzine has dazzled our screens once before as the charming prince to Camila Cabello’s Cinderella. Zakhar Perez, best known for his role in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth series, will play his love interest, the suave but stubborn First Son. The film will also star Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, with appearances from Stephen Fry and Uma Thurman.

The new poster, which will also serve as the new movie tie-in book cover, shows Zakhar Perez and Galitzine looking loved up on a leather sofa. We cannot wait to swoon over these two!

Written and directed by Matthew López, Red, White & Royal Blue will premiere on Prime Video on August 11.
