Bad Bunny Apologizes to Harry Styles During Coachella Set

Bad Bunny is righting his wrongs.

At weekend one of Coachella, the “Me Porto Bonito” singer seemingly threw shade at another singer during his headlining set on Friday night. The following tweet appeared on the screens behind the rapper:

“Goodnight Benito could do ‘as it was,’ but harry could never do ‘el apagon.’”

Though Styles did not comment on the tweet, his dedicated fans were outraged by the display and took to Twitter to share their frustration.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, did not issue a personal apology for the incident. However, his team released a statement in Rolling Stone last week, stating the rapper did not approve of the tweet before it went up at the festival.

Then, weekend two rolled around, and the Grammy-nominated performer again took the Coachella stage on Friday night. This time, a new tweet popped up on the jumbo screen, which read:

“Sorry Harry, it was a mistake from my team. We love you. <3”

The good news is, there is no real beef between the two artists, though we can see why fans were quick to go down that path. Bad Bunny is dating Kendall Jenner, who Styles dated on and off from 2013 to 2019. Both artists also landed nominations for Album of the Year at the 65th Grammy Awards, to which the British pop singer took home the prize for his third album, Harry’s House. But as fans have pointed out, the Puerto Rican rapper attended one of Styles’ concerts during his Love on Tour tour and recently rocked out to his single, “As It Was” during Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.

This screen mishap was not the only mishap from Bad Bunny’s history-making weekend one performance. When he brought out special guest Post Malone, the crowd was left disappointed when they could not hear Malone’s vocals. But everything went according to plan for weekend two as he brought out multiple guests including Jhayco, Arcángel for “La Jumpa,” Grupo Frontera for “un x100to” and José Feliciano.
