With the help of some familiar faces and a few new additions to the Griswold family, the wildly anticipated Vacation franchise is back and bigger than ever. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, the original vacationers, reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold for the 2015 reprise directed by John Francis Daley.
If you’re a hard-core vacationer like us, you’ve noticed that half of the Griswold gang has been recast, again. In the grand tradition of the franchise, Audrey and Rusty have been reimagined for the reboot. Rusty and Audrey, who were previously played by …
Anthony Michael Hall
Dana Barron
Jason Lively
Dana Hill
Johnny Galecki
Juliette Lewis
Ethan Embry
Marisol Nichols
… will be portrayed by Ed Helms (The Hangover franchise) and Leslie Mann (This is 40) in the upcoming film. Not only do we have seasoned actors taking over franchise favorites, there are also fresh characters like Rusty’s wife Debbie (Christina Applegate) and Audrey’s husband Stone Crandall, played by the LARGE and in charge Chris Hemsworth.
Prosthetic or not, we will be in line on July 29 to get an eye-full when Vacation hits theaters. We just hope it’s available on IMAX, preferably in 3D.
