Here Are The Queer 2022 SAG Awards Snubs & Dubs

The 2022 SAG Award nominees are here.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists released the nominees this week, and we have compiled the biggest queer dubs and snubs, such as Kristen Stewart.

Dubs

Lady Gaga snagged a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category for playing Patrizia Regianni in House of Gucci. She received the nomination as part of the best ensemble award.

“I have long dreamed of being an actress and studied from a young age because I was passionate and committed to storytelling through art,” Gaga wrote on Instagram to celebrate her nominations. “To be recognized by fellow actors touches my heart and is deeply meaningful that I would be included in this artistic community of brave imaginative humans. Thank you so much and congratulations to all the other nominees as well as all the performers in films this year—you are all gifts to the world and I’m so honored to be in your company.”

Other LGBTQ+ nominees include Ariana DeBose for her role in West Side Story and Murray Bartlett for his role in White Lotus. Barlett is up for Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series category.

SAG Snubs

The biggest snub of the award show is undoubtedly Kristen Stewart. She notably received no nomination for her role as Princess Diana in Spencer. Before the movie came out, Stewart created a lot of award buzz. Many critics even said she was a frontrunner for this year’s Oscars.

Meanwhile, fans were also shocked not to see Michaela Jaé Rodriguez get nominated for her role in Pose. This year, the trailblazer made history by becoming the first trans woman to take home a Golden Globe. Rodriguez’s co-star Billy Porter is also not nominated for a SAG award this year.

Others left off the nominee list include Tessa Thompson from Passing or Robin DeJesus from Tik, Tik…Boom!

We will just have to wait until Sunday to find out who takes home an award. They will air on TNT and TBS, February 27 at 8 pm ET.
